Evening all! By the time I click 'Submit' the channel 4 highlights programme should be well underway, so lets take a look at our results from today's race; Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 1 0 Hidden Cucumber fat brownie 169 2 5 0 Revers Racing Pete B 151 3 4 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 150 4 2 0 Pitts Specials john stones 149 5 10 2 Essex Racing Tony Clark 148 6 6 1 PSS Power Flyer 146 7 8 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 136 8 3 0 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 134 9 13 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 132 = 7 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 132 11 9 1 Iqonic racing iqon 129 12 15 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 108 13 14 1 Gyronut F1 The Gyronut 105 14 11 1 teewrex John Tee 101 15 12 1 Torque of the devil Stu 95 With a score of 169 points, fat brownie tops today's scores. There's a bit of a gap to second, and Pete with 151 points. But it's very close for the next few positions - I'm third on 150, but John S is only 1 point back on 149, then Tony on 148, and Ade on 146. Well done to today's top three - and to those who narrowly missed the top 3 as well! Moving on now to the overall table; Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 1 0 Hidden Cucumber fat brownie 853 2 2 0 Pitts Specials john stones 798 3 3 0 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 741 4 4 0 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 719 5 5 0 Revers Racing Pete B 694 6 6 1 PSS Power Flyer 680 7 7 1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 674 8 8 1 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 664 9 9 1 Iqonic racing iqon 660 10 10 2 Essex Racing Tony Clark 651 11 11 1 teewrex John Tee 615 12 12 1 Torque of the devil Stu 600 13 13 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 594 14 14 1 Gyronut F1 The Gyronut 568 15 15 0 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 554 Clearly fat brownie, being top scorer today, holds on to top place overall, and there are no place changes in the top 5. Ade and Charles swap places, taking 6th and 7th respectively. Carl moves ahead of iqon into 8th, while Tony leaps 2 places to 10th, displacing John T and Stu - each moving down 1 place. And GrumpyGnome steps up a place to 13th at the expense of The Gyronut. There's now a 2-week gap until the next race, which is in Miami, with qualifying and the race at 21:00 UK-time. I'll be in Vancouver, Canada, which I think puts the race at lunchtime for me. Hopefully I'll put out the usual reminder at a sensible time, but in any case; Don't forget your predictions! -

Evening all! It's the Saudi Arabian GP this weekend in Jeddah, and as I start typing this P2 is still underway. But first the important reminder... Don't forget your predictions! P1 saw Gasly setting the fastest time, very late in the session on an improving track. Only 0.007 seconds slower was Norris, with Leclerc a further 0.063 seconds adrift. Piastri set 4th fastest, just under a tenth of a second slower than Norris. P2 has now finished, and was topped by the McLarens of Norris and Piastri, Piastri a bit over a tenth slower this time. Verstappen set third fastest, ahead of Leclerc and Sainz. P3 is tomorrow at 14:30 UK-time followed by qualifying at 18:00. Sunday's race is also at 18:00. Now go and get those predictions entered - you've got a little under 23 hours before it's too late! Good luck everyone! -

Evening all! Bahrain this weekend, with everything at normal times of the day for us! So first of course (and pay attention John S!) the usual reminder; Don't forget your predictions! We've had P1 and P2 already, with McLaren topping them both. In P1 it was Norris setting fastest time with Gasly 2nd fastest and Hamilton 3rd. Six rookies took part in P1, Verstappen was one of the regular drivers not running in P1. P2 was headed by Piastri from Norris, with Russell third. Verstappen set 7th fastest. P3 is tomorrow at 13:30 UK-time, followed by qualifying at 17:00. Sunday's race starts at 16:00. Now, go and do your predictions - that includes you, John S! -

Afternoon all! With the channel4 highlights programme now well underway, I'll publish our results from today. Not the most exciting race today. Apparently it's the first time ever, on a purpose-built track (ie. not a street circuit like Monaco) that the top 6 have finished in the same order they qualified. But let's have a look at how we all scored today; Pos League Rank Team Manager Pts 1 1 2 Hidden Cucumber fat brownie 144 2 14 1 LetsGoTotoLetsGo GrumpyGnome 128 3 4 4 Revers Racing Pete B 123 4 3 1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 119 5 11 2 Essex Racing Tony Clark 115 6 5 1 The JP Specials johnpflyrc 113 = 2 1 Pitts Specials john stones 113 8 6 3 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 107 9 15 1 DMFC Racing Team Simon Webb 103 10 9 1 Iqonic racing iqon 101 11 7 0 Mannschaft Carl Brotherton 97 12 10 1 PSS Power Flyer 95 = 13 1 Gyronut F1 The Gyronut 95 14 8 2 Torque of the devil Stu 89 15 12 7 teewrex John Tee 72 Top scorer today, on 144 points is fat brownie. Second, on 128 points is GrumpyGnome. And third, with 123 points is Pete. Well done to today's top three! And even after forgetting his predictions, John S still managed =6th with 113 points. Looking now at the overall chart, and this early in the season lots of place changes expected. Our new leader is fat brownie, with John S and Kev slipping to 2nd and 3rd. Pete moves up 4 places today to 4th. Other big-movers today are Charles, up 3 to 6th, and John T, sadly down 7 places to 12th. The rest of us - except for Carl - shuffle up or down a position or two. Next weekend it's Bahrain, with Saudi Arabia the following weekend - both with late afternoon qualifying and race times for us here in the UK. If nothing else, it gives us longer to get our predictions done, eh John S? 🤔 -

Evening all! Quick reminder - it's Japan this weekend, and a 'normal' race weekend, though with an early start again for us here in the UK. But first, the customary reminder; Don't forget your predictions! First practice starts in a little over 5 hours from now, at 03:30 UK-time on Friday morning. P2 follows at 07:00 on Friday, leaving us the rest of the day to ponder over our predictions... P3 is at 03:30 on Saturday, with qualifying at 07:00 on Saturday morning - which is when the game gets locked. So make sure your predictions are in by 07:00 Saturday morning! Sunday's race is 06:00. Good luck everyone! -

Afternoon all! OK, we've probably all seen the email today from fantasygp, but in short - it's 'all change' at Red Bull! Given his (lack of) performance in the first two races, it's probably not too surprising that Red Bull have done a driver switch. Lawson is demoted to the Racing Bulls team, with Tsunoda taking his place at Red Bull. In terms of what this means for the fantasygp game, I'll quote directly from the email from them; "In Fantasy GP terms, this means that if you had Lawson, you now have Tsunoda and vice versa. In recognition of this swap around, all players have unlimited team changes until Japan. "So everyone has 7 days and free changes to rework their team. More details can be found here: Tsunoda to Red Bull for Japan " -

Evening all! OK, I know it's still only Wednesday, but China is a Sprint weekend, and they're 8 hours ahead of UK-time. And that means that the FantasyGP game locks considerably earlier than normal. Specifically, at 07:30 on Friday morning! So for most of us that probably means setting our predictions on Thursday, and maybe - if time permits - having a quick look first thing Friday morning at the results of the 03:30 Practice session and perhaps updating predictions. But whatever your chosen tactics - Don't forget, your predictions need to be done before 07:30 on Friday morning! Now, the big question... Can Kev hold on to top spot for another week? Good luck everyone! -

Morning all! We've now had the first two practice sessions of the new season, so it's time for the customary reminder; Don't forget your predictions! FP1 saw Norris setting the fastest time, 0.149 s ahead of Sainz, now in the Williams. Leclerc set 3rd fastest in his Ferrari, with Piastri in the other Mclaren 4th. Verstappen was 5th fastest, ahead of Albon, Russell and Alonso. Hamilton set 12th fastest time, 0.819s slower than Norris. FP1 also saw Bearman crash. FP2 saw Leclerc fastest, 0.124s ahead of Piastri, and 0.141s ahead of Norris. Tsunoda was 4th fastest, ahead of Hamilton. Verstappen set the 7th fastest time, with Russell down in 10th. Evening all! Just a quick reminder that the 2025 F1 season kicks-off this weekend. And of course as it's in Melbourne both qualifying and the race take place, for us in the UK, at silly o'clock in the morning! As I write this at a little after 11pm on Thursday evening, the first practice session is just over 2 hours away, starting at 01:30 on Friday morning. P2 follows at 05:00 on Friday with P3 at 01:30 on Saturday. For most of us I guess that means trying to make sense of the times posted in P1 and P2, and getting our predictions posted sometime on Friday. And maybe for some, updating predictions after P3? Qualifying is at 05:00 on Saturday morning - so make sure your predictions are entered before then! And if you've not picked your team yet, then make sure that's done before then too. On Sunday the race is at 04:00. I think this may be one that I record to watch at a more civilised time of day! Those reliant on the Channel4 highlights coverage can see that at 13:00, I will delay publishing any results here until the highlights proramme is at least well underway, if not actually concluded. -

As for the budget, yes Pete, it would be nice to have a bigger budget. But then we could all buy the top cars/drivers. So I guess we're stuck with the budget we've got. Hopefully I can do better than last year - well I could hardly do much worse! 🤔 Right, time for me to go and have a look at those numbers again...
