Phil Winks
Nice looking model the pawnee as for spacers on the motor mount some one on her devised a system of using threaded bar and nuts found it works well and allows adjustment for both motor protrusion and side / down thrust use it pretty much in all my models now

Derek Rawlinson
Hi I have just finished building the Eflite piper pawnee. Like fred I had the problem of having to make more spacers before the prop shaft would protrude throught the cowling.I have't flown it yet. Still busy flying my Eflite piper cub. The eflite kits are excellent value for money. My cub flies like a dream.Derek
Fred Keegan
When you fly it make shure you get the CG correct, on my maiden flight we managed to crash it on take off. would not repair, gone in the bin. It climbed far too sharp and then stalled, it all happend so fast it's hard to see whay realy happend. When my locall shop gets some more kits I have my name on one as I am shure it was my fault and not the design of the aircraft. Fred

Derek Rawlinson
Good for you Fred. I hope you have more luck this time. Mine is nearly ready to fly.I did notice though that it needed a lot of weight in the nose to get the CG right and thats even witha heavy 4000 Ma battery!Derek
Fred Keegan
The more I think about it Derek I am sure it was the balance that was not correct. I will check and double check on the new one. Fred.
Fred Keegan
Pictures showing the 12mm spacers you need to get the prop driver clear ( as you will gather from the pictures I have made a start on Pawnee MK
Fred Keegan
I was going to save the second Pawnee build for later on , but due to the bad weather we are having in the UK there is no way I can get out with my Beaver and other aircraft. I have been loking at Hanger 9 Pawnee 40, I saw one fly at our electric day the other week, may look at one over the winter months ( you just can't get them at this moment in time ) . I would put a Laser 80 in mine if Santa brings me the kit !!!!

Derek Rawlinson
Hi Fred,Great pictures. Have you flown your second pawnee yet????Any CG Problems?Derek
Fred Keegan
Not flown the Pawnee yet. out today for the first time for a week or two. Took the Beaver and the Sea Fury. It was the first outing for the Fury, let my pal Steve test it , Glad I did it was very quick but he soon had it trimmed out and let me have a go. the ground was bad so we used the retracts for take off and the Belly for landing.
