Darran
hi Given the relatively cheap cost of x8r receivers I have them in all my models (overkill i know). But I have a very sample t34c that I don't have the room for a big receiver, So has anyone experience with using any of the micro receivers that frsky do with a taranis. If so which 4 channel would you recommend with such a little plane.
MattyB
X4R if your Taranis does not have D8 mode, D4RII if it does have D8 (I like the D4Rs because they draw less current, a major plus if running on a single cell Lipo for DLGs).
Darran
Could I not use something like FrSky XM Plus EU-LBT 16CH Tiny Receiver with SBUS
Bob Cotsford
Have you got some small S-bus servos? If not you need to factor in a decoder. If I need more than 4 channels I like the X6Rs, smaller than the X8R and they don't use the daft little plugs and ultra-light wire of the XM Plus, otherwise I use the X4Rs. What has put me off the XM is that it's designed for multirotors and just comes with a bare ended harness using wire that's too thin for standard servo plug crimpers to cope with. The wire isn't even silicon so it's quite stiff and I just can't bring myself to trust it.
