John Edwards
I have just cyano'd the nose section of my Easy Star back on for the third time after a normal landing on lush grass (honestly), and I know that others have had to do the same on at least one occasion. The break usually occurs at the same position - where the rear of the cockpit opening joins the main body of the fuselage. Never having used foam before I am at a loss to know how this area can be reinforced. Any ideas appreciated!
Jonathan Lewzey
Try epoxy and glass cloth if the epoxy doesn't melt the foam. I don't know whether the easy star is made of elapor or epp but epoxy should be ok. try it on a scrap piece first. I did a similar thing on my hacker ray and now it's fine and will never break.Jonathan L
John Edwards
Thanks Jonathan for your suggestion. Sounds like the answer, but never having used glass cloth, could you guide me with regard to type and weight please? The Easy Star is Multiplex's Elapor by the way. Nick Burroughs
Hi there. I have been given an Easy Star with no instructions. Does it use a normal (ie not pusher) prop? It came with a 6 volt 400 motor - what battery size does it need. Where is the C of G? I know this has nothing do do with repairs, but without this info I may need repairs!!! John Edwards
Hello Nick.I think that the easiest way to help you is tolend you the original instructions that came with the kit so that you can photocopy as required. I shall happy to do this if you care to advise me of your address via [email protected]. My club flies 3 Easy Stars using 2 different prop. sizes and 3 different battery sizes/types!!
