Kolton Smith
Hi im working on a combat robot for my high school. We are using a spektrum DX6i controller and are currently have it set up for the elevator to be forward/reverse and the aileron to be left and right. Our issue is elevator up makes the motors spin forward like they are supposed to but elevator down still makes the motors spin forward. Turning to the left the left side motor wont spin in reverse like its supposed to it doesn't spin at all while the right side spins forward for a swing turn instead of a pivot turn and the opposite for the other side. I would really appreciate any help for this. Thanks in advance
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
HI Kolton, We'd need a bit more technical detail to answer authoratively. Can you tell us the following: 1. Are the motors brushless? 2. Are you just using a single speed controller? BEB
Paul Marsh
Hi Even though this is a flying model forum and some aspects such as motors, etc apply to both, maybe joining an applicable Robot Wars Forum might be more better. I've always fancied building a robot to compete, but never did. Watched the series Final just a few mins ago and seems that the robots are really powerful and even the bullet-proof arena is not enough for Carbide... Good luck! Andy48
Yup, its gone past the days of nicking MIL's mobility scooter and using the wheels and motors for a robot.
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I think Martyn K is interested in robots and builds them (as well as model aircraft!) if he look in he may be able to help. If not we can probably work out a solution if we know a bit more about the kit he's using. BEB
