What paint for Multiplex Twin Star

Hi, managed to get a Multiplex Twinstar at a Swop meet the other day. Pretty tatty in places.

2 things.

1) I wish to paint it, what are the best paint types etc to use on this model.

2) There is a bit of foam missing around edge of a aileron. What would be best to fill this missing foam with. I don't seem to have any suitable foam in my misc box?

Thanks

I've used Multiplex's own brand of primer and paint especially formulated for their EPO models, and you could try a filler called 'Bounce' which is specifically for foam models.

Contrary to what Chuck is saying, foam safe CA glue isn't really suitable for EPO foam as it doesn't have the required strength. Regular medium viscosity CA is perfect for EPO foam. Even better is Muptiplex's own brand, Zacki CA. thumbs up

I used Plastikote rattle cans from B&Q on mine. If you spray too heavily, it will attack the foam - so light coats. You can actually make a virtue of this, by spraying sufficiently heavily to 'etch' the surface. Subsequent coats will then build up to a surprisingly durable finish.
