Phillip Howcroft
looks a good un for a beginner, how easy would it be to add ailerons to this king of model?
David Ashby - Moderator
Funny you mention that Phillip as you've just reminded me. When we saw the model at Nuremburg Multiplex told us that the model flies no better with ailerons and in fact made a point of saying that, so I would fly with rudder/elevator first and see how it goes. Phil Winks
Its that huge dihedral Philip tends to negate the affect of ailerons. I agree looks lovely and if (as I suspect most will) you set the rudder on ch 1 it won't feel much different to flying full house except perhaps stall turns and axial rolls but then ITS A TRAINER and its not exactly styled on any sort of aerobat. certainly looks like it'll be popular though the choice of bty seems a little off not to many leccies using 2s LiPo's in my limited experience might be better to fit it out with something that'll handle a 3s of about 2000 mah if it'll stand the weight. which at 59" span it should that would make the bty useful in subsequent models also some bigger wheels for anything but tarmac. might be nice to see a floats option too maybe with wheels to make it a true amphibian. tell you what though David if the powers that be are short of a reviewer I'd love to (chuckles quietly with x'd fingers)
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Has Mr Hawes got his grubby mitts on this one for review....he sent me a couple of pictures of one doing touch & go's on a lake......without any floats!!!!!
