Miller CAP 21

I have been building Peter Miller's CAP 21 from the plan and article in this issue. I have just been fitting the motor, an SC32 like Peter has used and although I thought I had read the article thoroughly, I had missed the bit where he says a manifold extension to the silencer is needed to clear the silencer in this canted position. I have looked up the parts lists on J. Perkins website but find no mention of such an article. Is one commercially available or did Peter have one specially made? Could you or Peter solve this conundrum for me please. I have returned to aeromodelling after a gap of 30 years. I used to fly Stunt but wish to master R/C while I'm still able.

try looking for an OS or ASP one, they certainly do them for larger engines.  Or try Just Engines, they are usually very helpful.

As Bob says  Just Engines is the place for your silencer spacer.

Look under Accessories and then exhaust accessories and you will find them there priced at £8-99 for the 35mm spacer.

I built the Cap 21 a while back and it goes like stink on SC 32.

For other builders who have not got that far. just change the angle of the engine so the silencer clears the side of the model
