That is a complex question. Most manufacturers are conservative, and recommend more oil than is needed. And there are oils, and oils. But that is not to forbid you using this stuff, and adding a bit of the best oil, say the synthetic polyester used by moto cross bikes, to get to your manufacturers oil content, made up in small quantities. And lean the oil mixture for oil, to see if the engine gets stressed.

Mine, 40 to one, and 30 to one, all run fine on 50 to one. (Petrol in my case). But you have to suck and see if your engine is good. Even a sayso that you brand of moter is OK can only be followed if you are sure you trust the source.
