Gemma Jane
Ah that is top secret Eric, na not really its the stuff coke bottles and those plastic things that easter eggs are sold in are made of, want to experiment with vac forming (just so long as I don't get stuck to the bench with epoxy resin beforehand)
Rick Tee
Some model shops stock the clear stuff, i use it to make canopies.

260 Flyer
Gemma3ltr lemonade bottles are thicker than the smaller sizes and can be cut down to give a good size sheet of PET.Rob
Guest
not seen 3 ltr bottles before - down here in sunny south 2 litres are the large size - would think they would do just as well - choice of clear, green and brown
Gemma Jane
Thanks for the help guys, I'm after something lower gauge than most drink bottles and specifically sheets cut to size for convenience, seems to be a difficult product to find on the web. Gemma Jane
Just thought I would report back, first supplier I've found that provides a good selection in quantities/gauges/sizes suited to modellers, no PET but plenty of thermoform plastics:http://www.ema-models.com/shop/catpages/page-FA.html#FA02

John Cole
Gemma: Try looking for a trade-name product such as Mylar sheet. Mylar is PET film (as are Hostaphan and Melinex). You'll also see it referred to as polyester film / sheet. It's the same basic material: the difference between Mylar, pop-bottle PET and the resin to make polyester trousers (as worn by Electric Flyers) is simply one of molecular weight (how hard it's been cooked!).Try: http://www.stencilwarehouse.com/acatalog/Stencil_Material.html
