BackinBlack
There are 3 sizes of Deans; Micro, Mini and Standard. I understand that Standard size have an XT version, same size and configuration of pins but better(?) materials. This comparison might help: **LINK** Hope this helps Ian
Denis Watkins
Perfect reply for all of us Ian, so many forms of connector, thanks
Allan Bennett
'XT Deans' connectors are not made by the W.S. Deans company, but are one of many copies of the Deans Ultra plug. They, and some other copies, have improved on the original by moulding grooves into the sides for better grip. They will be compatible with genuine Deans connectors, but I have read some reports of inferior quality in some of the copies -- especially with respect to the springs which hold the flat mating surfaces in good contact. Genuine Deans Ultra plugs are pricier than the copies, but you can get them in UK from electricwingman and maybe some other places. But if they are sold loose, they're likely not genuine ones. They should come in Deans-branded plastic pouches.
