Bob Cotsford
As a single point reference, my daughter took an interest in model building and flying and computer programming (ie Daddy's interests) from the ages of about 7 to 14. Once the hormones were firmly in control the previous interests were filed away under 'boy's toys' and left there. We do have one female member in the club (less of that, you know what I mean !) but I can't help thinking (based on observation) that it's an active attempt to share time with hubby rather than an interest in flying machines. It would be nice to have a few more female faces on the flightline but I don't see it happening.

Simon Webb
All the women I know find this hobby incredibly boring and childish. They fail to see the skill involved. Just thought I would add this, because it is a common view of women about this. Some women love it, but don't do it, but I get my fair share of "you are a grown man playing with toy planes!" So I reply "And you are a grown woman without any understanding of this hobby!"

Glad to hear it. Final question. How many typewriters do they need in order to make sensible posts on this forum?

Lima Hotel Foxtrot
Posted by David Mellor on 08/07/2018 11:45:47: Posted by Lima Hotel Foxtrot on 08/07/2018 10:28:34: Posted by kc on 06/07/2018 11:06:54: No. It's a man's hobby! Is this supposed to be humour, or is this deliberate misogyny? I ask merely for clarification. Good question. I think there is no mysogeny in the thread, deliberate or otherwise. Good point. I should have questioned the casual nature of some of the terms thrown around in here: SWMBO etc.
