fly boy3
Hi all, although relating to full size aviation, as a model flier I need some explanation please. Anos, which one is currently in operation, and do they change annually. Showing my ignorance again, what is a Cap. Are Ano,s automatically forwarded to full size pilots ? Thanks
John Lee
The last Air Navigation Order was the 2016 version, but that has been amended by various Orders since then. They are available if you search on the Government Website. CAP are the publications from the CAA, they are available on the CAA Website They are not automatically forwarded to full size pilots. As a full size instructor I occasionally receive an update from the CAA regarding training but that's about it. Alan Gorham_
Is the OP confusing ANO with NOTAM perhaps?
fly boy3
Thanks John for the interesting info. Alan, yes you are right, but again what is a Notam ? Cheers
Alan Gorham_
NOTAM stands for notice to airmen which simply tells flyers about potential hazards along a route or at a particular location on a given day or for a given time period. If you Google for current NOTAMS in the UK you can see any applicable NOTAMs in your area, for example. Sometimes it is quite revealing to see what is filed, especially those connected with model flying actviities.
John Lee
Wikipedia article on Notams (Notice to Airman) is a good start. The official UK source is here but everyone uses an App nowadays such as SkyDemon or for models Drone Assist.
