Keith Evans 3
When calculating the MAC of a parallel chord wing with a fixed slat do I take it to be from the leading edge of the slat to the trailing edge of the main wing or from the leading edge of the main wing itself ? Peter Miller
Personally I think I would take it from the leading edge of the slat. My reasoning is this. If you then find that the CG is too far forward it is a simple matter to move it back. If you worked from the leading edge of the wing and then find that the CG is too far back you could be rebuilding to model. The old adage,With the CG too far forward the model will fly badly. With it too far back the model will fly once. I am sure some aerodynamicist will come up with a far more scientific answer.
