Simon Chaddock
GerryThere was a thread "Stripped plug thread" not long back in this IC forum that discussed the options available. The general concensus seemed to be that a new head was probably the easiest option.
Gerry Stansfield
Thank's Simon, I did enquire about a new c/head; and got a shock at the price! £75.00, no thank's.
Bert
I don't know if it's alright to mention other forums on here, but there is no offence intended. There is someone called David Turner who posts in the RCMF forum under IC engines who claims to be able to repair stripped plug 'oles in four strroke engines HTH
Gerry Stansfield
Thank's Bert, tried that site, seems to be a more experimental effort of Davids, for exhaust pipe threads, suppose it applies to plugs as well, but it,s a risk. Thanks anyway.
Allan Jordan
Hi Gerry, Restoring plug threads on a F/S engine can be a little tricky, I've have only done it on T/S engines. You could try getting in touch with "Just Engines " Perhaps they can help ? www.justengines.co.uk Give it a go, nothing to loose eh !Regards Allan J
