David Davis
I have always admired the lines of the Martinsyde Elephant which served as a day bomber in 1916 and 1917. The aircraft had a wingspen of 38 ft which at 1/6 scale would produce a nice model with a 76" wingspan (almost 2 metres.) I have had a look on the Outerzone and on Aerofred but the only plan I can find is for a free flight model with a 46" wingspan. I realise that Peter Rake made one with a 50" span but I really fancy something a little bigger. Does anybody know of a bigger plan? Didn't Eric Coates build one of about that size in the Eighties? Martyn K
I remember Eric Coates' free flight Elephant. Have you considered simply scaling up a free flight model?
J D 8
I am pretty sure Eric Coats had a larger RC Elephant he entered scale comps with as well .
