Bembridge Aerodrome is still operational, just not licenced for public transport, so no problem there if they wanted to use that. Also any private strip across a farmers field could be used as long as the landowners permission is gained and not more than 28 movements (take-off and landings) are made a year, otherwise planning permission is required. As this is part of UAS development work sansioned and approved by the CAA, I cannot see that the Island authorities would have an issue with that if the appropriate risk assessments were carried out.
