David Barker 2
I am finishing building a DB Auster J1. Ready to fit cockpit top vac clear glazing. Would like advice regarding if it is possible to glue magnets to glazing direct using epoxy resin , to make this easy to remove. Or do I need to glue wood to inside of glazing then glue magnets or steel washers to this. Thanks for any advice, Dave B.
kc
Trying on a scrap sample would prove whether it sticks. My opinion is that the magnets will stick so well to the other steel or magnet that you wont be able to get a firm enough grip on the glazing without creasing it when removing! Of course you could put the magnets on outside & 'loose' and let them hold themselves down to the other magnet, so all you have to do is remove the magnets. Personally I would use tiny screws disguised in some way.
