Matt Carlton
Evening chaps. I'm looking for a replacement for Litespan now that it is no more. Anything out there? Oratex I understand is similar to Solartex in weight so that won't do. Looks like good tissue and dope might be the way to go. I'm not convinced that cellulose dope is fuel proof so that might not be particularly light by the time it is fuel proofed. Otherwise it'll be glossy film I suspect. Orafilm is nice but pricey, has anyone had any luck with the el cheapo eBay films? Cheers Matt
Outrunner
Tissue over Mylar. Better than Litespan, better shrinkage and lighter than doped tissue. I put the tissue on with the cheapest water based varnish I can find, don't think it will be fuel proof though, just finish with your favourite fuel proofer if you need to use an oily engine. Phil. Matt Carlton
Not a bad plan. Not done it before but willing to give it a go. How well does the Mylar cope with double curvature? I'm sort of stuck on oily engines at the moment. That may change.
