Martian
thanks FF I was hoping I could convert to a cad file and then extract a single former or say wing rib etc
Dad_flyer
Inkscape will import vector PDFs and output .SVG. I have a feeling it will do Gcode, but I have never used that. It will also import bitmap PDFs and do a reasonable job of tracing into vector format. It is pretty powerful, open source and free
Tim C
Inkscape has an extension called Gcode tools, this will produce code to run a cnc. There are plenty of YouTube tutorials on this. I actually use Lightburn for laser cutting, it’s worth the small amount of money for the licence as it contains many useful feature to fine control the cutting Edited September 28, 2021 by Tim C
Martian
Thank you guys. I have a licensed Lightburn .the reason I started out on this path was to make Nacelle formers for my Tigercat . I know there are laser cutting services out there but I wanted to do it myself especially if its a bespoke part I need . What I wondered is if you send a plan to a laser cutting service or CNC how do the plans get transferred to the laser software ?
