GREGORY ROURKE
HI FOLKS, COULD ANYONE TELL ME A BIT ABOUT RX's. I HAVE A FUTABA , FP-R138DF RECIEVER WHICH I PURCHASED SECOND HAND. DOES IT HAVE A BUILT IN BATTERY THAT NEEDS TO BE CHARGED?, OR DOES IT NEED A SEPERATE BATTERY TO POWER IT. APOLOGIES IF I SOUND STUPID BUT I AM. Tim Mackey
All receivers require a separate battery Gregory.
simon barr
Hello Gregory, and welcome. All receivers need an external power supply, whether it is a dedicated battery or power supplied through an electronic speed controller if the model is electric. If using a battery as for a normal i.c. engined model, you can plug it into any spare socket, with the servos plugging into their appropriate sockets.Only use either a 4.8 volt or 6 volt RX battery, but be careful as some servos don't like 6 volts. All the best,Simon. Hamish
GregorySuggest you find out where your local model club is and go along. You will find a wealth of information from many who will gladly assist. What are you proposing to use the receiver for?
