Andy Stephenson
I have two of these motors which appear to have different RPM/Volt ratings. There are only two versions listed on their website so it looks like I have one of each but there are no markings on either. They have noticably different guage windings. I'm guessing the one with the thinner wire is the lower Rpm/Volt. Before I fix them up on a test stand, would anyone like to agree/disagree on this. Trevor
I think you're right. The way I look at it is - viewing the motor as a generator, how fast does it have to turn to produce a given voltage? That way, I can easily see that more turns (necessitating thinner wire) would generate more volts per rpm, i.e. lower rpm/volt. The higher number of thinner windings is also consistent with the slightly lower no-load current quoted for the lower kv motor. Andy Stephenson
Trevor, Many thanks. This was my reasoning and particularly when you see the specs of some racing motors with as few as 2 turns on the stator.
