Alternative use of Pin Hinges.

Ok so I am sure lots of you have already used many types of pin hinges for your control surfaces but have you thought of putting them to a different use. ?

Like securing a battery hatch or canopy.Below are some pictures of securing a Canopy and wing.

The Original pin was removed so that I could use a thin copper wire to re secure the Canopy.

Once folded down the Canopy is secure.

Here  I have a Map Pin and Nylon thread glued to the win so that I do not lose the Locking pin.

Once the Wing Half's are slide together I can insert the Locking Pin to hold the wings Securely.

This method I have found to be better than Magnettes or rubber bands.
