kc
Brian I think you could forget what Don wrote! Watts per pound is the main thing Most people use a the following as a guide to minmum watts per pound ( obviously there are some people who like excess power! ) Slow flying or vintage models 50 to 80 watts per pound weight ( allup weight including battery ) Trainers and sports model 100 watts per pound Aerobatic models etc 150 watts per pound or more. So for your C130 you should aim for about 100 wats /pound with minimum of 80 watts/pound including batteries and everything. Weigh the completed model and ask for motor advice. Some scale modellers use scale props for static display ( 4 bladed ) and change them for a more efficient but non-scale prop for flying ( perhaps 2 bladed ) ' Weathering ' and ' colour perspective ' can make a huge improvement to the looks of a scale model. Colour perspective is basically that the actual colour looks too bright on a small scale model and maybe needs to be dulled down. Weathering is dirtying up the model to look used. Many people hate non-scale colour schemes on scale models.
