Nick Holmes 2
Hi guys, recently tried to change the prop on my Saito 125a, must have been a bit tight when originally fitted and you have guessed it will not come off. Have removed prop nuts etc but prop is stuck hard, any ideas the best way to remove? Thanks
winchweight
There's a similar thread, but in essence you need to use a tool to stop the piston moving and then unwind the prop by hand.
Tim Mackey
Try a piece of wood through the exhaust port to "jam" the piston- then try turning the prop and easing it off. Otherwise it may require a puller. Alternative, suspend the engine upside down supported by the prop between two hard wood pieces / vice jaws etc.... and sharply hit the end of the crankshaft to see if it frees off the prop. If absolutely everything above fails, cut it off I guess
Myron Beaumont
" As the art mistress said to the mechanic " Sorry -Couldn't resist it . By the way Timbo the reason I couldn't insert smilies a short while ago was because I had increased the zoom feature on the lap top to 150 % & it wouldn't let me ! OK on 100% in other words NOT a fault of the new format which I'm quite happy with now .Well done y'all !

Myron Beaumont
Bert If you give the prop a blast with a heat gun you should add don't use it again!
