Ernie
Hi Guys, A wee query re. nitro in glo fuel. It's quite difficult to find a reliable source of glofuel here in rural France...There is, by chance a guy close by who supplies the local car club..The problem is that it's all high nitro content.. the lowest is 15%. Now, normally all my engines, including a laser are on 10%, simply for the convenience of one mix for all. It would save me many hundreds of kilometres in driving to use the 15% What are the implications of this, and more important, will it do any harm ernie
flytilbroke
Ernie, I can only go by two sources, not by experience. To an extent it depends on the Manufacturers guide for the individual engine. Mostly this I would say, as at least one Manufacturer states not to use high or much nitro. Then, from others comments, it can depend on what you want from your engine? as it may have a reduced life. Now from the USA, they appear to not recognise any glo fuel with less than twenty percent, so it can't be too bad. Why not mix low Nitro fuel when you can get, it with the local brew? and use the local in any for engine which you may not worry about. simon barr
15% will be fine, Ernie. I use it when competeing in club aerobatic comps to get that little extra power.
