Simon B
I have a Decathlon and my dad owns an X-Ray and we've both suffered at the hands of the woefully inadequate undercarriage. They also have seemingly low grade balsa that means if you do a hand launch you run the risk of snapping bits of the fuselage if you accidentally grip it a bit too hard. Shame, as otherwise they are lovely models, but it's worth reinforcing these areas if you buy one.
Stephen Grigg
Yes Simon Ive beefed up the areas on my Boomerang where I hold it when I put the rubber bands onThe tell tale cracking sound and it just feels a bit squeegy

David Ashby - Moderator
LOL, who won! Seriously I'm still thinking about how we'll structure this but a separate thread per model would be better so users can tack on their own experiences of a certain type. Stephen Grigg
You see David I was relating to the gripping of the fuselage,in the contex of this thread and relaying a comparison, all be it that we were both gripping the fuz for different purposes

Simon B
I've just reinforced the undercarriage on my decathlon by pouring in a load of baking soda and pouring CA over it. I discovered what this combination does from RCME's ARTF fixing guide and it's amazing. It sets like rock, but is pretty light!
