Yorkman
is there any way (like soaking balsa) that depron can be treated to make it more flexible, so it can be rolled around a L/E for example?
birdy
There is an artical somewhere on this sight I think, where Cyril Carr (Is that the write name?!) made a depron space shuttle, and explains how he rolles depron.
Chris Card
If you score the inner surface of the depron at regular intervals, it curves nicely. This link explains well, along with details of building a full depron wing: http://webx.dk/rc/depron.htm Edited By peevie on 03/10/2009 09:55:
Yorkman
thanks for that-the answer's no, then!
Simon Chaddock
Yorkman As far as I know the only way to "soften" Depron is to heat it, but it has to be at exactly the right temperature and uniform over the required area, not easy to do. I does however have a "grain" so it bends better one way than the other and of course the thinner the sheet the easier it bends. The complete LE of my Hamilcar ahead of the spar is a single 2mm sheet bent round, no heat, no scoring, just finger pressure and UHU POR. Yorkman
now that's what I wondered-if that could be done. Looks good Simon.
Bruce Richards
Another trick for bending depron is to cover the outside of the curve with brown parcel tape before trying to shape it. This will help to stop it cracking.Edited By Bruce Richards on 05/10/2009 08:58:

Mowerman
Also see www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=385446 The above will show you how others have done it and built some great models.
