Gary Wright
I am building a Travel Air and am unsure as to where route the aerial. Does it have to be kept as straight as possible or can it be doubled back on itself?
Malcolm Fisher
Doubling the aerial will probably reduce the range. Leave it dangling out of the back of the plane or have it along a wing if that's practical. Something attached to the end to help as a sort of drogue can also be an advantage in making the aerial visible and thus less likely to get caught or stood upon. Andrew Clarke 3
doubling back on itself will definately reduce the range, try out the side and up to the fin or at my club some models have it out of the bottom and along to the tail covered by fuel tubing to protect it. Simon Chaddock
It is also a good idea not to run the aerial close alongside any metal push rods or other wire as it could interfere with the signal in some directions.
