Alan B
If you haven't seen it already Tim - I think you will enjoy it. What did surprise me about the program was that we know a chap who usually turns up at various events and parties in the village and (tongue in cheek - he usually makes a B-line for my girlfriend! ) we know him as Stephen and he is a historian. When I first saw the program I thought - I know that chap - he lives in the village. Its his son -we have known him a few years now and never knew his father was such an amazing aviator and test pilot. He never ever mentioned him. Going off the program - not a case of like father like son - two totally differnt personalities!
Crosswind
Hi Tim, If you're interested in Alex Henshaw, have you read 'Sigh for a Merlin' about his experiences testing the Spitfire? Or 'Flight of the Mew Gull', on his flying experiences before the war? Both cracking reads
