Tim Mackey
For all you guys who still dont haveone of these essential little gadgets Maplins return again with the £4.99 digital MM. 10A DC current range, and all the other usual suspects. I have 3 of these, and they are fine for simple work which we usually tackle in the hobby.
Bruce Richards
I also have 3 of these. If you haven't got one the get one quick they are such a useful tool.
RonSpencerUK
Why do you need three?
Tim Mackey
Well I guess most people wouldn't. I bought one originally, then a few months later they were doing a "bog-off"on the same meter, so at that bargain price...too good to miss, after all a spare is always handy. Having said that I do actually use all 3 simultaneously occasionally, to measure input battery voltage, current drawn, and voltage output of a regulator or UBEC etc. I also used two in my brown outs experiments as shown here.Edited By Timbo - Administrator on 27/11/2009 10:22:
Tim Mackey
And another.... This time 4 meters are in use, including an astroflight wattmeter, cos I ran out of MMs
Bruce Richards
That's exactly the same as me I bought one and then bought two more on BGOF. I have one upstairs in my hobby room and on in the garage and a spare.
Peter Wood 4
Timbo Impressed with the test rig and can just about work out what is going on. However I am puzzled by the lump of what looks like insulation foam behind the motor mount or is it a lump of wood?
Tim Mackey
yeh its just a block of wood that the motor mount plate is screwed to - it either clamps upright in the workmate, or a vice, or as here, flat to the table top.
