Tim Mackey
When I got mine 3 years ago, it was the same - no big deal real, just means one or two of the switch legends are not quite accurate with the manual etc, but it works just fine as aero too. Ross Clarkson
Cool. So its not actually different Timbo, just the swtiches might be labelled up differently but can still be used for what is required?
James40
I seem to remember reading the DX7's available in the US have a different switch configuration to those in the UK. Do you have the 3 position flap switch on the front panel like the US version or on top ?
James40
Here you go Ross clicky here for the RC groups thread on just this subject. Where did you buy it from ? I'm guessing you can return it for the aero version if you want to ?
Ross Clarkson
James, I have the flap switch on the top left. It actually says FLT Mode and has three positions N, 1 and 2. I then have left hand side: Elevator D/R left of front panel. Gear front middle of front panel. Trainer Hover/Pitch right of front panel. Then on right hand side: Hover/Throttle left of panel. Aux 2 middle. Aileron D/R right of panel. Hold Rudder D/R 0, 1 on top right.
James40
Yep you've got the heli version alright, it's exactly the same unit it's just labeled up differently. Did you get it from "Heliguy" they seem a few quid cheaper there than the other Rip Off RC specialists. I've been looking at the DX7 for a week now and there is quite a price difference between stores, prices vary from £240 to £290 for the same thing !! And very annoyingly you still need to buy a charger and battery I'm lucky that I have the DX6 in my PTS mustang so I've got the charger already. Tim Mackey
It will be fine.
Ross Clarkson
Got it from Alshobbies James. £240. That is good news Timbo, thought it might have different software in but now that i know it will be ok, i have relaxed a bit. Phew.
buster prop
James and Ross. After reading this thread I checked the switches on my DX7 and it seems I have a heli version too! The model shop guy didn't tell me there were 2 versions of the DX7 when I bought it although I did say I mostly fly planes. He said that the DX7 could be used for either, I'm glad its just a labelling difference between the versions even if it makes some instructions in the book confusing. I only have 1 heli, a Blade McX which I fly with the DX7 in HELI mode but everything else is ACRO, I programmed elevon mix for one model and it works ok. Until I read your posts I didn't even know there were 2 versions of the DX7. Thanks for info.

Ross Clarkson
Not that i didn't believe you but this is the response i got straight from the horses mouth as they say. "Good morning! You are correct, other then the switches, the functions are the same. So other then the label the programming is the same. Feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can help you with"
