  1. Hi Darrell, we need to know what frequency it's on please.
  2. Hi Craig, couple of small points, the oil bleed, do not use too long a length of pipe, otherwise the oil just bangs backwards and forwards in the pipe! Another thing, you can use a small microswitch for your onboard glow, just arrange for the throttle linkage to press in the button when it's close to closed, that way you'll extend your battery life, since you don't need the glow at higher rpm's
  3. Pete B and TonyS, with you both, 100%
  4. Lots of food for thought here! I marvelled at the expertize of the pilot, felt sorry for the camera man! However, study of the footage shows the aircraft (jet sled) disappearing into cloudbase! Said cloudbase looked to be about 1000ft AGL, that's got to be dangerous! It also looks like they got lucky when it went 'dead stick' in one of the few areas of flight phase where it would make it back to the patch.I'd like to see all of this kind of footage (not just aircraft) banned from You tube and the like. It gives the crazies too many bad ideas! Bottom line, people (adrenaline junkies) will do these things, you can't stop it, you just drive it underground. Sadly there will be some serious accidents, and deaths. The best we can hope for is that these people will see the dangers and become 'self regulatory'. Rant over.
  5. Beb, I think you'll find that a quite a lot of members and lurkers (myself included) are Brits, resident overseas who need a bit of sanity in their lives. I find this site makes me glad I'm a Brit.
  6. Pleased for you Tony, I was holding thumbs, as we say down here! So you'll using the strip cross wise then!
  7. I put a loo down on tiles many years ago, chipped the tiles nicely where it was going to stand, great, looked really good. Then about 2 years later it came loose! The female of the species is not happy when the bit they're sitting on moves away from the wall!
  8. Steve, when the parcel arrives here the locals give it a new number, that's the number you use to do any local tracking. Perhaps asking for the number raise a 'flag' that says, somebody wants this!
  9. Steve, I find that as long as it's 'to be signed for' it gets here, I've had a lot of stuff sent out over the last couple of years, and with one exception everything got here. The item that disappeared was sent from the States and for various reasons I don't believe the seller actually sent it! He offered me a half the price refund within hours of me looking for a tracking number!I'll revise slightly, it doesn't matter how you send them, clothing never gets here!
  10. Tim, have you thought about HDPE pipe? It comes in 12mm diameter and is fairly rigid in lengths up to 600mm. You can also buy push in fittings for it, T's angles etc. It's used out here for garden irrigation.
  11. Most of us just look on in awe! Ton, this looks about the same size as David Boddingtons 'Push Moth' wouldn't something like a Cox Black Widow power it? Then Andy could build one!
  12. I've never heard of connectors that can be connected reversed! I'd change to Deans connectors! End of problem
  13. The early Spitfires had two pitches, coarse and fine, with a 'push pull' knob on the instrument panel. Many pilots crashed on take off because they left it in coarse! Douglas Bader included!
  14. I suspect, mind your eyebrows may apply!
  15. Fear not, Jim, mine's still in the box! I haven't even opened it yet!
  16. You should see what a pride of lions do when they get into a kraal (corral) of cattle! I'm surprised about the cat poo on the lawn, ours usually bury it in the flower beds. Now I know why I hate gardening!
  17. See what Tafkam did on page 3, I think the secret is 0 thrust line and increase in span to 158cm
  18. Like Biggles said, 'Marmite', forced to say, like Tim, I don't actually like cats myself, they seem to adopt certain people, and, as a bonus, they keep the Rodents out of the shed. The down side is finding the box of your latest 'in progress' being used as a bed!
  19. Rescued animals are always the best Stephen, we have 6 dogs and 5 cats, all rescues! One of the cats (Streep) likes to use my Balsa sheet as a scratching post he's about to become unrescued if he's not carefull!
  20. Thanks Tony, you put it so much better than I could.
  21. Bob, I find Avast! does it for me, I can't rate it highly enough, As for Firefox, I find it seems to work faster and more seemlessly than IE, doubtless someone will prove me wrong, but that's my feeling.
