  7. I have a GlowSwitch Plus v2.13 but cant find the manual for setting up.   Can anyone point me in the direction of a .pdf manual to download ?   I remember it has an on/off/auto setting, all I have found on browsing the web is an on/off manual and its not jogging my memory on what the setup features are when it cycles though the 'beep' setup options.   Regards Kevin
  8. I used to find my MDS 40 Pro was top notch if I ran with 10-15% nitro in the fuel it helped with the throttle pickup. I had it in a Ripmax Extra Slim. I even found starting became easy when primed with 4 turns of the prop with the carb open and a thumb over it first before adding the power to the glow plug then using the motor starter. My Plane out lived  the engine and I still bought a further 2 x MDS engines one a 48 and the other a 68.  If you haven't already get some nitro added to your fuel
  9. How are these tests carried out for your certificate. How do you prepare your flight plan or does the examiner instruct you on each step, are the maneuvers continuous or fly around do a maneuvers fly around do 2nd maneuvers etc... ?

  12. Hi David Turner,  I've no doubt that we will have spoken to one another on the Westwood but your name is not familiar, I've flown there for between 10 to 15 years. You may know of some of the planes I flew I used to fly a Hooligan of strange colours with purple wings and orange fuselage and a favourite of mine was a black extraslim 300 with green decals. I no longer have these and have bought an unfinished kit to fly next (name unknown), you may see it there soon.   Seeing as you mentioned it I joined the WestWood Flyers Website, didn't know of it till now!  Kevin
  13. Nice solo field Kelvin, where is it ?   Do we all have our own flying fields where any of us can fly, I  look at joining a club every year but just pay the BMFA insurace and fly on a local field.   I do however have a local public flying field where I can join other to fly for a great day of flying its in East Yorkshire at Beverley called 'Beverley Westwood' opposite the race course Here   Maybe we can gather a collection of locations where we all fly and get more of us meeting for some great flying days together ?

    ASP 70

I also had trouble with an ASP 80, I thought the problem was with me having installed it inverted, I have since fitted an on board auto glow system and it's never missed a beat now!   The way it operates for my onboard glow system is it turns on when I'm starting the engine then is switched by my remote control to auto which only brings the glow back on when the throttle is brought down to idle and when throttle is up approx 1/4 to 1/2 throttle the glow is turned off. I can switch to off from my remote control when I have landed.   Looks like alot of ASP engines work best with one of these onboard glow systems fitted.
  15. Thanks TOM the link was to a an interesting plane for the Boulton-Paul P.75 Overstrand It has a wingspan of 21.95 Meters and reaches a speed of 153 MPH   Still I think I'd prefer the Curtiss Condor however the DH Dragon Rapide is growing on me the more as I look at the build with both wings mounted on the body.   The engine positions on the Boulton & Paul P71 A has an advantage for the propeller ground clearance and a nice feature of a tripple tail fins seen below:
