  1. If you only need power to the RX, then use a Y lead. Because if it goes wrong that £28 up in smoke. if you have no Instructions, go to the FR SKY website and down load them. it might say if you can power the rx from other pins
  2. Brian Dorricott. If you need another SC 46 i have a spare. Had very little use, looks like new. Yours for £45, posted, and i also have a OS 46 AX also in near perfect condition £60 posted, Both not used anymore as i only fly 4 strokes now   Edited By CARPERFECT on 06/11/2018 22:14:54
  3. I note the viper fuel is stated as containing 18pc oil. Quote 'to comply with warrantee' Is that a new thing for weston fuel? I spoke to Weston years ago, about this. I was told that the 18% was at the request of some buyers, as they wanted 18%. Most engine instructions from yesteryear stated a minimum of 15/20 oil. back in the days of Castor. modern oils are much better. When i first bought some weston fuel , i bought 1/2 gal of all there fuels. both 5 and 10 % nitro. we found the 10% the best. The Viper with the 18% smoked and cough a bit.
  4. Been buying it in bulk for our club now for over 4 years. no problem at all. is good stuff
  5. I have a Taranis X9D and a X6R.(NEW IN BOX) if someone can do a screen shot of what the tx should be showing, i will look at mine and see if i can help Sonny. What i had seen is two bars one for the tx battery that shows the volts as well as the bars , but the other only shows the bars, and no numbers.
  6. I am new to the Taranis but not to rc planes. from what i have been told and read. If you charge your battery to full, then measure the volts on a volt meter , then set your tx to that
  7. Thanks Chris. You have basically the same system as i have, but you have used an extra gizmo. If you use a Fr sky D4R-11 or the Delta 8 receiver instead of the d8r you would not need the converter as the D4R -11 will output a cppm signal if a jumper is placed across pins 2 and 3. Have you still got and 35mhz gear you could try the converter on ?
  8. Here is an explanation of pwm/ ppm/cppm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbUMC8h2uhU
  9. Chris Bott. 35mhz receivers output ppm not pwm i think
  10. Trying to avoid using the 35mhz as a direct transmitter, Electric planes get a few glitches on 35 mhz at our field. i know i have tried   Edited By CARPERFECT on 16/10/2018 19:51:29
  11. Or me lol. I have been flying for over 30 years, so not a novice, But when it come to magic smoke dept ( electric bits) i no nothing. As Rene Artois from Allo Allo says
  12. Hi all any radio/electronic experts out there ? I have been playing with wireless trainer systems for the last few weeks. Why? Well we have a club tx and trainer plane on mode 1, and was looking for an easy and cheap way to train on mode 2 as well. Now the way to get wireless training is 1.Bind the club TX to the Club Plane 2. bind the students rx to the students tx in CPPM/PPM MODE the plug the students rx into the club (master tx ) trainer port and that`s it. Well we have plenty of mode 1 and 2 Tx and Rx`s around on 35mhz. So the big question is how do you get all the channels to come out of one slot on the rx of a 35mhz ?
  13. Four Experts, and a Novice, The day i managed to fly my glider with four Swans
  14. Next weekend is the last meeting of the year for water flying off Ullswater,

  16. The accounts show a £10,000 support donation both last year and this from the BMFA funds to the NFC
  17. John Tee, We have a very small site so do not have Helis or m/rotas, We have 54 members and this works fine for us, We have roads to two sides and a house just down the lane 150 mts away
  18. Have a look at our site layout. at www.brighousemac.co.uk the click on Flying Site, and scroll down to the bottom
  19. Very much the same in our club. we park the cars some 40 yards from the flight line and the pits are in between, so all flying is done in front of the pits and cars. I am one of two safety officers in our club. my friend does weekdays and me weekends, Any member who fly`s near the pits is told so , we also have two roads near our field, and we do not allow people to over fly them either, In the ten years i have been a member nobody has crashed into or near a car. In the road and in the field over the road yes, Even me about 4 weeks ago, when something started to go wrong with the plane/radio, so i crashed it on purpose so as to not let it fly away, as the only control i had was engine and elevator . New Transmitter bought , and a new plane lol
  20. Tom Sharp 2. Nobody has said the insurance is going up, that`s the point. what they have said is, the bmfa might not get the £35000 rebate back, because of the number of claims, plus falling membership numbers, plus they lost money last year, so the members will have to pay more. The bmfa budget is about £1.2 million, of that about £380,000 insurance. £250,000 staff wages. then the big bit £600,000 spent on other things, This is the bit that needs trimming to match the income, The Chairman`s statement to all the ill feeling about the raise in fees says they are about £20,000 short, but asking for £4 = about £140,000
  21. The bit in the middle about only being £20,000 short fall. 35,000 x 4 = £140,000 ? So why do we need an extra £120,000 ?
  22. Faced with the prospect of fewer members, no insurance rebate and with the requirement to offset the expected loss in the current financial year (and a small deficit from the previous year), we still have to balance the budget. We have looked closely at all of our expenditure and opportunities have been taken to make savings. However, in order to ensure that we remain ‘in the black’ the Council will be proposing to the AGM that Senior membership increases to £38. At just 73 pence per week, we believe that this still represents excellent value; the increase of £4 is little more than the price of a pint of beer. Remember, BMFA membership is not just about insurance: the support that we offer both to individual members and clubs when needed can be of huge importance. Furthermore, without our strength in numbers and reputation gained over many years giving us credibility when negotiating with regulators in both the UK and Europe, our freedom to enjoy our sport in the way we do now would almost certainly have been curtailed by legislation.
