  1. I did the same with the other elevator and then proceded to the rudder. 1/4" tips and bottom infil to be added.
  2. After it had dried the next job was to turn it over and complete the other side.
  3. Think it's about time that I started to post something on here about my build. I began with the elevators as I thought they would be an easy introduction to Denis Bryant's design. I made a new first rib from 1/4" as per the plan. I also cut the front spar to suit the height of the first rib down to the 1/4" tip. First photo - no flash; second with.
  4. New version of Avro Lancaster MODEL just announced by HobbyKing and it's available in the UK Warehouse. Nice.
  5. Hi Seraph, I have a Durafly Sky Mule and it definitely has XT60 battery connector. Eamonn.
  6. Posted by Phil 9 on 04/10/2014 16:16:57: and thanks for the search tip + 1
  7. Thats the canopy glue that I use. It dries clear and doesn't shrink and sticks canopies. I'll have to try it on all the other stuff. LOL
  8. Nice piece of work John, that's the part that I'm dreading. I'm hoping Danny's new way of doing planking works for me.
  9. Tim, Canopy glue is available from TJD Models HERE. Their link is on the right of this page. Eamonn.
  10. Looks like you got the fin sorted Tony - Any tips.
  11. The propellers/fans look like those windmills on a stick we used to buy for the kids at the seaside.
  12. Nigel, equivalent metric size to 16BA is 1.5mm. Good luck finding some. Conversion Table HERE As per kc's post 2mm is the closest metric size to 10BA.           Edited By Eamonn Fahey on 01/10/2014 18:26:06
  13. Hi, my name is Eamonn and I am a serial modeller. I want to build a model of this Chipmunk in Irish Aer Corps colours:- I got a Meccano set from the man in red when I was 5 years of age in an attempt to stop me from dismantling everything I could get my hands on in my thirst for knowelege on "How Things Worked". Then came Airfix models that were built, displayed and launched out the bedroom windows to see how far they would fly. Balsa models were next in my quest for flight, both chuck gliders and rubber powered planes. All were dismal failures - I was doing all my building on my own! Another gift from the man in red was a Jetex engine and a kit of a Vampire. This was my first sucessful flight - I was hooked. On the second flight there was a plume of smoke followed by a short burst of flame and she disappeared into the long grass, never to be seen again. I was crestfallen but on the way home on my bicycle I passed two lads flying Control line planes. WOW! I got lots of info from them and bought my first Aeromodeller magazine and the rest, as they say is history. My Dad taught me how to use a fretsaw, to sharpen chisels, to solder and to respect my tools. Several i.c. engines were recieved as Christmas presents over the next few years and many control line stunters and combat models constructed from orange boxes and brown paper and dope covering. Girls, marriage, a mortgage interfered and I had a bit of a break from modelling. My wife bought me a 3 channel Chart 'Horizon' R/C set and I was back building, mostly Semi Scale. Then another break while we reared and educated 2 children. Model boat racing and model car racing we did as a family. Back then to aircraft which is a rather selfish pastime as I disappear to the shed and to the park on my own. I am now retired and want to build my first proper scale model - rivets, panel lines, hinged cowl, sliding canopy and lights. And, I hope, give me the push I need to finish all the scale models I have started and abandoned due to a lack of confidence.
  14. David, there is also R/C Desk Pilot. Be aware that some of the free flight sims will not run on Windows 8. Check before downloading! Eamonn.
  15. Love this Japanese Doctor! Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true? A: Heart only good for so many beats, and that it... Don't waste on exercise. Everything wear out eventually. Speeding up heart not make you live longer; it like saying you extend life of car by driving faster. Want to live longer? Take nap. Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake? A: Oh no. Wine made from fruit. Fruit very good. Brandy distilled wine, that mean they take water out of fruity bit so you get even more of goodness that way. Beer also made of grain. Grain good too. Bottom up! Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program? A: Can't think of one, sorry. My philosophy: No pain...good! Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: YOU NOT LISTENING! Food fried in vegetable oil. How getting more vegetable be bad? Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: You crazy?!? HEL-LO-O!! Cocoa bean! Another vegetable! It best feel-good food around! Q: Is swimming good for your figure? A: If swimming good for figure, explain whale to me. Q: Is getting in shape important for my lifestyle? A: Hey! 'Round' is shape! Well... I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. And remember: Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!" AND...... For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies. 1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits. 2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits. 3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits. 4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits. 5. The Germans drink a lot of beer and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Brits. CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.
