  1. Nice model to build. Tissue and dope it in different colors, its good fun and dope is fuel proof Andrew Boddington vid on YouTube is worth a look at Just remembered you are doing the Major Edited By bert baker on 19/01/2015 23:18:56 Edited By bert baker on 19/01/2015 23:20:13
  2. Yep seen them for a while now, or very similar. Nice but limited market (imop)
  3. Lost one on landing finals with enough height to get myself out of trouble, but radio said no . lost another at full throttle on a large banked turn. and another kept loosing aileron. I have been flying since 1980 and do know how to tip stall Throttle spring, never tried and never will, plus in my view it will probably cause excessive current draw Edited By bert baker on 18/01/2015 21:05:43
  4. Did find an interesting installation video from HH
  5. I have thought about a Spektrum logger, I have never seen one used, is there any benefits to be had by using one. I have not even looked it up on the net before.
  6. Must admit I don't like the sound of the thread inserts, However a novel idea to overcome a problem. Well done
  7. square hole drills, wow i thought it was April until I watched the video
  8. If you are adamant about finding out about your own gear, is there any independent testing facilities to send it to.. The transmitter, hmm well it sits at the end of all my models and it would be very costly to change them all to another manufacturer. and who's to say if it is hash or other obscure interference won't happen with another manufacture.
  9. Posted by cymaz on 18/01/2015 08:43:27: I will put in the bin straight away....the servo not the plane And this is the problem, we are getting rid of equipment we have paid good money for only to chuck it away because we can not get a good answer to why the plane crashed. or risk another model and use it again. My mate recons 2.4 is way better than 35 meg days, so the occasional unexplained hiccup is just the way it is. Edited By bert baker on 18/01/2015 09:26:49
  10. I use a JR DSX9 transmitter and have only had problems when using Spectrum receivers with it. So does the rf board theory work with JR Edited By bert baker on 15/01/2015 21:21:00
  11. Still got my late eighties power Thing. Very robust has had a hard life and still going strong.
  12. Sounds fun, Start the engine before the chuck.(lol) All the Cambrian  models I have had in the past have been great flyers. Edited By bert baker on 11/01/2015 17:37:00
  13. Hi, One of my old club members built the Vamp from the RCME plan. It looked nice and flew well
  14. Yep Transmitter. do a search for buddy box Most clubs use the buddy box system, basically two radios are used linked together, but they must be compatible with one another, so there is no point going to a club with a radio no one can buddy up to.
  15. keep your money in your pocket, find a local club first. they may have a club trainer plane to get you in the air. Most clubs have them, although it can be hassle. There will always be second hand stuff coming up for sale in any club
  16. No one has mentioned sun spots, are these a thing of the past
  17. I have some receivers that as of yet have not met the hammer, Perhaps I should give HH a go and see what happens
  18. How much does it cost to have a receiver tested / service ?????? Spektrum 700
  19. Blah. never did like football I still have a few early FF super7's and one has a Spektrum module in it and it still works fine. Edited By bert baker on 06/01/2015 13:23:11 Stock up,Yeah thats OK until they broadcast something else on it.   Edited By bert baker on 06/01/2015 13:26:01
  20. Why can't they just make a decision and keep to one type, design or whatever.
  21. So what were do we go from here. Has anyone had a receiver sent back for repair or the transmitter. Has any good come from sending them back. I would still be a bit nervous of using a receiver fresh back from repair/ service.
  22. Posted by WolstonFlyer on 04/01/2015 15:16:39: Perhaps get or borrow a Spektrum Flight Log SPM9540, it will record any signal fades, frame losses, brown outs / failsafes and also receiver voltage during a flight. Spoke to spektrums ( I think it was them ) about this a long time ago, basic answer was yes you can log problems but what then what are you going to do.   Edited By bert baker on 04/01/2015 16:10:29
  23. Posted by Chris Bott - Moderator on 04/01/2015 14:40:59: Ben, I don't think this will answer anything, but when I used to use Spektrum, some models would deflect surfaces at the moment of Rx switch on. They would then settle at neutral when the Tx and Rx were speaking to each other properly. If you switch on your Tx, then your Rx, does the elevator blip down and then back to neutral? Once everything has been set up you need to rebind to stop the above happening Stops the retracts collapsing when switching on the model
