  1. Hi Chris. While you are setting up the heli if you disconnect two of the three wires between the speed controller and the motor, this will prevent the motor from starting up. Safety First!! If you do a google search for "Helifreak" there is a lot of specific help for individual models of helicopters and particular radios, I can help with the Heli, but Im not a Futaba user so cant really help there.
  2. Any good slope soarer Had a nice lunch time flight today, Fully ballasted Luna 2 2m moulded glider (anemometer reading gusts of 40+ mph) Edited By Chippy on 05/03/2012 20:55:54 Edited By Chippy on 05/03/2012 20:56:40
  3. Posted by Vecchio Austriaco on 30/10/2011 23:12:10: Back to Rich - may be its also a kind of Multiplex design problem Maybe it is.. quick search on err... *another forum* suggests that its quite common with these 2 models, seems to be quite a few different fixes too.  VA, He seems very happy... they do fly well.
  4. Rich, Are all the side thrust setting screws making contact with the side sections of the motor mount? I think the mount is the same as the acromaster, mine suffered from bad vibration but turned out to be the prop nut I also swapped the APC prop for a xoar wooden one There was an extra safety sheet with my acromaster stating that vibration could be caused by the side parts of the mount not being glued properly to the fuselage sides and that the cross brace at the back of the mount HAD to be fitted securely to reduce vibration problems.
  5.   Posted by Ian Jones on 23/10/2011 01:09:52Barnstormers Models is here The marker is a few yards out of place (due to new photos since the marker was put there) but it will get you close enough.  Thanks, definitely gonna pop in Barnstormers next time I'm up that way Been to a few model shops on my work travels, Slough RC the most recent.
  6. Simon, I agree with RGP. had my Luna II for about eight months and its the first model I pick up to go sloping with. Its a great first mouldie, if you can fly an aileron middle phase and land that ok you shouldnt have too many problems with a Luna. Which slopes do you fly from?
  7. Definitley acromaster, Just had a similar decision to make and chose the acromaster. not the cheapest but an amazing plane.
  8. Finally managed to test fly my shiny new acromaster... and im very very impressed, definitley the right choice i think, just need my thumbs to catch up with the plane a little
  9. My LMS closed about 2 years ago, I supported him as much as possible but the overheads just got too much for him to make a living. My nearest LMS is now 40 minutes drive away, quite a well know store but is vastly overpriced. I tend to buy most consumeable items online, for major purchases I wait till I'm passing a model shop on my rounds with work.   Tom, where is Barnstomers? I'm a bit of a sucker for multiplex too.. might have to "pop in"
  10. Rich,   I think its made by Windrider in HongKong, they make some nice models including the Bee flying wing (Irvine X-it) I have tried to post a link but IE 9 wont let me!!   Chippy
  11. Thats okay Dean, I had to strip the sig ones out of the "40" after I'd covered it... so the sullivan ones were installed during construction of the "120". I used the stock undercarriages without problems, they do flex a little but it just helps take some of the bounce out of the landings. Use plenty of epoxy to secure the undercarriage block though. Thats the main reason I built my 120, its running an OS 91 FX (2 stroke) swinging a 16x6 prop, its got enough power. If i built another I'd probably fit a 120 2 stroke or a 160 4 stroke or even a nice 20-26cc petrol as i had to put a chunk of lead in the nose.
  12. Nice to see somebody building one of these fantastic models!! I built the 40 size version as my first "low winger" and then built the 120 version which im still flying. They really do fly and best of luck with the build. My only piece of advice would be to replace the elevator and rudder control snakes supllied in the kit with sullivan gold-n-rod ones, the sig ones seem to "move" Edited By Chippy on 02/10/2011 22:31:05
  13. Cheers guys for all the advice, theres now a half complete Acromaster on my bench... hopefully should be finished for a maiden on Sunday!! Oh and a huge thumbs up for the guys at Slough RC, very helpful chaps and worth the slight detour on my way home from london.
  14. Thanks, I am leaning more towards the Acromaster i think, it is a bit more expensive than the MX2 but I own a Cularis (unpowered) and a Funjet and am impressed with the quality and robustness of MPX models.
