  1. My computer is dying, well not quite I am running Windows Vista which is causing me all sorts of problems. Can any one who has run Phoenix rc on Windows 10 had any problems? A new computer is needed and Windows 10 is the option, other than an AppleMac which I cannot justify, or afford.
  2. Has anyone else had problems getting into flightradar24. i just don't seem to be able to get it to load on my computer. I am not experiencing problems with any other site. Well I don't know what you guys did but it has worked, I got straight in first time in over a day. Edited By John Miller 4 on 11/08/2015 11:14:18
  3. The first rule of airbrushing is practice, practice and yet more paractice, when you think you have cracked it practice again. I like using enamels and use cellulose thinners, yes I know it runs contrary to what you would expect but it works. The cellulose thinners are only a vehicle to carry the paint, by the time it hits the surface being painted it has all but evaporated (allways assuming you are doing this in a warm dry atmosphere) High humidity is your worst enemy, even in high summer. Many thin coats are better than one thick one. The most important rule is absolute cleanliness of the airbrush, strip it and clean it after every use, even if you are only stopping for a cup of coffee. Never, never, never, allow acrylics to dry in it, as they are an absolute pig to remove
  4. Do you mean Wings and Wheels on 27/28th June? If so the answer is yes as far as I know, if not I will be there on my own.
  5. Mowerman, yes including that type of grass, as I understand it, Not from first hand knowledge I hasten to add before the rozzers come knocking on my door.
  6. The Producer is the 'Boss' and Clarkson the hired help, fact. I also have worked in the industry like Clarkson and you know that most filming days you are going to over run and meals will be taken late, this applies to everyone from 'The Star' down to the floor runner. It is no use getting upset about it, it's the way you earn your living. Having said that, yes I enjoy watching Top Gear but some of the stunts are, I am afraid ,suited to 14yr old schoolboys. The real mans programme is 5th Gear.
  7. C'mon Guys, Why take a sledghammer to crack a nut. It is far better to allow Dad the oportunity to sort the problem out rather than upset him by involving 'elderly William' At the end of the day you have got to live there with your neighbour, sour relationships with neighbours can blight your life, trust me. In any event if Dad is unable to solve the problem you can fall back on 'official involvement' A phrase like "I thought I would let you sort your lad out before I involved Police" leaves no doubt as to what course of action you would initiate if he could not.
  8. Daithi S24 Police and criminal Evidence act 1984 applies, you have been spun a yarn I am afraid.
  9. Remember Pete it's not the 'Job' it's the guys you miss.
  10. While we are on about armaments the original Mk1 Spitfire was armed with .303 machine guns not 30cal. 30cal is in reality 7.62mm. The .303 round was the standard UK military round of the time, it is only in fairly recent times that we (the UK) used the 7.62mm round. Edited By John Miller 4 on 13/10/2014 19:06:43
  11. Many thanks Guys I knew you would come up trumps, I have in fact used Stevo's method boiling water and steam (did get admonished for filling the Kitchen with Steam) clamped it to a short length of 2" od tube, job done.
  12. Just to let you all know this is model related, though not model aircraft. I have undertaken a project for The National Trust which is a diorama. I thought with the range of skills that the members of this forum display I might get the help I needed.
  13. For some reason this post seems to have dropped out of the system. I am therefore resurecting it in the hope that I may get the answer I am looking for.
  14. Peter I do not understand, I have clearly asked if the ammonia 'trick' works on hardwood in the same way it works for balsa.I have no experience of this and hope that someone out there has
