My computer is dying, well not quite I am running Windows Vista which is causing me all sorts of problems. Can any one who has run Phoenix rc on Windows 10 had any problems? A new computer is needed and Windows 10 is the option, other than an AppleMac which I cannot justify, or afford.

Has anyone else had problems getting into flightradar24. i just don't seem to be able to get it to load on my computer. I am not experiencing problems with any other site. The first rule of airbrushing is practice,practice and yet more paractice, when you think you have cracked it practice again. I like using enamels and use cellulose thinners, yes I know it runs contrary to what you would expect but it works. The cellulose thinners are only a vehicle to carry the paint, by the time it hits the surface being painted it has all but evaporated (allways assuming you are doing this in a warm dry atmosphere) High humidity is your worst enemy, even in high summer. Many thin coats are better than one thick one. The most important rule is absolute cleanliness of the airbrush, strip it and clean it after every use, even if you are only stopping for a cup of coffee. Never, never, never, allow acrylics to dry in it, as they are an absolute pig to remove

I also have worked in the industry like Clarkson and you know that most filming days you are going to over run and meals will be taken late, this applies to everyone from 'The Star' down to the floor runner. While we are on about armaments the original Mk1 Spitfire was armed with .303 machine guns not 30cal. 30cal is in reality 7.62mm. Many thanks Guys I knew you would come up trumps, I have in fact used Stevo's method boiling water and steam (did get admonished for filling the Kitchen with Steam) clamped it to a short length of 2" od tube, job done.

Just to let you all know this is model related, though not model aircraft. I have undertaken a project for The National Trust which is a diorama. I thought with the range of skills that the members of this forum display I might get the help I needed.

I am aware of the use of ammonia to aid the bending of balsa. Is it possible to use this when bending hardwood. I need to bend a 2mm square length of walnut into a 50mm rad curve. I have only one shot at this, will it work?

Why if BMFA has several million £s salted away, because thats what would be needed to purchase a suitable site, would there need to be an increase in subs. If they haven't got the money they will need a suitable phillanthropist to fund it, because as shure as eggs is eggs no Bank will lend against an organisation who's income is derived from subscriptions. I concur with BEB that it would be used by the faithful few. Realistically it would need to be located in the Midlands. how many would take on a drive of say 5 hours to get to it. We have also discovered that many of us are past retirment age, do I want to Camp when I get there, do I heck. I am on a pension which has to go further and further each year I can ill afford increases like this proposal. I fail to see how it helps any youngster wishing to enter the hobby who lives say 200 miles from the venue, his local club can support him better. And lastly my view of surveys is that most people are indifferent to them.

I have to say that I think BEB's thoughts on this are spot on. You will of course get someone who crosses the line, we are after all human. Paranoia about who's looking at who is not helpful. It is not good to ask our security services to act on our behalf with one hand tied behind their backs.

The Islander's yes there are two of them operating out of Northolt, I think you will find, are used for training purposes. I am afraid I am unable to see what all the fuss is about. What are the implications of having radio arials close to carbon fibre spars etc. Are there ways of overcoming such a situation?

There springs to mind a little phrase which applies to an item sold in that 'it must be fit for purpose' this clearly was not due to its construction. Having said that, I would take the money and run. Taking the matter further will lead to expense and hassle anyting for a quiet life me.

Try Citric acid, obtainable from any home brew counter or chemist used for allsorts of things. Make into a fairly strong solution with water drop your parts in (those to be cleaned of course) job done. Make sure you wash them with hot water when finished, that applies to all the cleaning agents mentioned above as well.

Hi Pete You were 100% correct in your assesment of my problem. I did as you said and cleared my memory (mind you that happens quite a lot these days) set everything up for a normal wing. Had I looked closer I would have seen that the aileron servo's were connected by a form of 'y' lead. Thanks to your help it all looks good. It only remains to move the 'Panic' switch from the trainer button as otherwise I will not be able to buddy with one of my instructors. I am now looking forward to next week when I can get one of the guys to test fly and trim her. Then it's my go.
