  1. As I add to my collection of Calendars, Flypast, Airplane (due soon), Tank Museum, Vulcan to the Sky Trust and Airfix I wondered why RCM&E don't do one instead of a free plan using some of the terrific photos from their library.
  2. One car, not in the pic, was taken by the river and was recovered a few miles downstream. The pic was taken Boxing day about 6 years ago just outside Bradford.
  3. Bang on Bob. Bottom row third from left which is live to the fan. A few others show early signs of the same failure. Apparently its the constant change in temp as the boiler fires up and cools down which stresses the joint. My Mum lost her car in floods a few years back over Christmas and was inches from her flat being taken.
  4. It's a Potterton Profile 40e that emmited an arcing/fizzing sound during its start sequence but failed to ignite.
  5. Been without central heating for a few days. One quote to replace PCB and gas valves at £460.00 + VAT but suggested new boiler. A bit of research and a replacement PCB from EBay for £43.00 which I fitted fixed the problem. See the problem, I could even have saved the £43.00.
  6. Blackhawk Down. Full Metal Jacket Band of Brothers
  7. Anything to do with a stabilisation Rx with the movement provoking a servo response with that servo possibly having a fault.
  8. Two birds with one stone at least. Stan of Phoenix Model Products and Bekra in Newton Abott are well worth visiting. Bekra covers a range of Hobbies and Stan has a very well priced range of kit you'd be hard placed to beat. I also think there is a new shop opened in that rough area that may have had a mention in a recent mag. Enjoy your visit to Devon.
  9. A few pics from a visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Musem. The taxy ride in Just Jane was a truly memorable experience last week, listening to the four Merlins start up and do their stuff was pure joy. I've been to most of the UK aviation museums but given the history behind the purpose of this one it has a very special feeling about it. East Kirkby only operated for two years, the truly awfull loss of life by 57 and 630 Squadrons puts into sharp relief the intensity of operations from the airfield. Over 800 airmen lost their lives in those two years from both Squadrons. The museum is a very poignant reminder of what happened in those difficult times. Well worth visiting. Was also lucky enough to see the Mosquito start up and taxy the following day.
  10. I didn't have time to go in any of the museum hangars so I'll be visiting again this Friday after my little treat.... Up to the Lincs Aviation Museum on Thursday for my, booked a year ago, taxy ride in Just Jane. Can't wait, the thought of sitting inside the Lanc when each of those Merlins roar into life. Popping into the BoBMF when I'm up there as well. A bit of an aviation road trip Can't wait.
  11. Great pictures Erfolg. I went Sunday. For me parking and access was painless, although I came up from Devon I stayed with a mate in Dunstable Saturday night. Arrived via the A505 at about 8.45am and drove straight into the car park near the pedestrian bridge without even stopping. Stayed till the end for the Mark Hannah tribute. I was on the A505 within 5 minutes of getting in the car, so we'll worth booking the main car park. Weather much better than expected but it did curtail the two jets and the corsair lost its slot but hey up. Overall the display was stunning and the opening sequence of 109s, hurricanes and Spits was visually stunning and evocotive. Well worth the money and travel. I was back home having a beer by 9.40pm. I booked a grandstand ticket and worth every penny. Had a great view until somebody drove past in this. Edited By Devcon1 on 24/09/2019 22:54:36
  12. I know as much about Rugby as I do Quantum theory. I've drawn France and Scotland in the office sweepstake, what are my chances of getting a 1st to 4th place finish . Could the bonus prize for the first sending off be my only chance. 🏈🏈   (I'm half Scottish so that might be a good omen)   Edited By Devcon1 on 20/09/2019 07:14:37
