A bit of progress. Finished the top of the mast. And begin working in the structure of the mast..   Have to decide over the motor and cell count.     Glueing the ply tongues of the mast. Koen. Other tip about the canopy is leave the first one over the patern and mould over this. So the imperfections get lost a bit. José Luis

Sorry could't upload the pics. Added to my album.   Sheet cut at 45 degrees for external cores of the mast.     Patterns of 2 mm ply. 3 mm patterns. The pices that will suppor the screws of the mast will be rought cut (both at a time) and glued over 3 mm ply for a 6 mm thickness. 3 mm patterns (light ply). Balsa patterns and a last pice on 3 mm light ply. The external cores of the must ready for cutting. The cores cutted and 3 mm inserts for the servos screws.   All the piced cut and sanded. Well, Here are ready for a build log. I know there are others, but I need some help for finishing her. I am not new to building from plans but new to autogiros. This weekend I enclosed in the shop and began cutting parts. Also glued the dobled bulkheads and parts. Here are a few pics of the progress until now. José Luis Spain

Nice build. I was thinking on making a build log of mine. Yesterday I managed to beging building the mast. First cut the 3 mm sheet at 45 degrees and glued the pieces for the external cores. Mine will be a very slow built because I mainly can built the weekends. Thaks for your pics. Keep us informed of your progress.   José Luis G. Hi Richard. Yes That the `gyro.   I began balancing the blades as sugested in the instructions, but in the end we finished with a lot of holes in the blades!.   looking forward. Hi, nice desing. Waiting for the plan. Some time ago a friend of mine built an autogiro (scale fron an US kit) with a 3 blade rotor. When we began balancing the blades was an imposible task, due to lack of knowledge. The model is collecting dust at my home. I few times I look for info or try to buy a training model but lost interest due to the rotor head. Probably a new try. Nice to see so elaborate/informative thread. thanks. José luis G.

Hi, Eric The major issue is the wing tube that limits your space for working with the battery. I fixed the battery with velcro to the plywood base, not the zip-ties included in the kit. The ply try slots in the front and screws at the back. I put a bit of fuel tubing in the screw for fixing (Screw-washer-ply try-slice of fuel tubing around the screw). Cheers. José Luis

Hi, I fly about 10 mins, partial throtle. Have a lot of power. I use two 25 Amps ESC. The only problem I have, from time to time, is that if I cut throtle totally one of the motors re-start a bit later and it can catch you if too low. For changing the batteries is a bit tedious because of the lot of wires you have in middle of the pass. José L.

Forgot. The side formers in the nacelles have slots for two positions of the firewall. You probably must install the firewall in the front slots and glue it. I didin`t notice this and made a circular base for the motor. Installing the two part cowls take a lot o trial and error, because one engage in the other. I think a 4S will be to much for your motors. I used Great Planes aluminiun spinners instead of the plastic ones that came in the kit. Have fun with your model. José Luis

Hi Eric, I build mine this summer. All the built is straighforward. The only isue I have was the stab/elevator. The hinges was missplaced. For balancing I have to add a lot of lead in the nose comparment (Batt is a 4500 MAh-3S). When I was checking the motors (in the home) the plane flyed to the floor and the battery broke the former in front of the battery tray.This let me to make a new extended tray. Cheers. José Luis

Hi Terry, nice built. Some years ago I built the Cessna 120 and really went very well. It puzzled me building the fuse in two parts (front and rear) and latelly glue both. In your pics of the central part of the wing I didn`t see any wood. betwen the ply dihedrals. I think that the "horizontal" part (The center) must be filled with wood and the spars of the wings get glued to the arms of the ply dihedrals with their shearwebs (If the plans call for them). Decissions!, Decissions!. This weekend I`ve been studying the plan. I've decided to re-scale to 1/5 (About 61.4 inches wingspan). Really you can re-scale using a ruler and pencil/calculator because the plane lines are straight, except the wing profile . The increase factor is 40% (To pass from 1/7 to 1/5). Really I`m going to use 44% (About 1/5 scale at 63"-160 centimeters). This change permits me using the stock of balsa I have. The sides of the fuse will be 3 mm (1/8". I`m going for a transparent canopy with some detail ( I have a vacuum box). The cowls/nacelles will be of fiberglass (Foam plug and lost method or a final mould?) Perhaps retracts with oleos. Decissions!.... Probably this week I'll go to the printing shop for enlarging and draw the new ribs in Compufoil.   Cheers. José Luis G. Hi. Congrats on your "model". Really a cool model. Yesterday I logged in "Modelflying" for checking the contens of the new issue. Found your model and checked the videos and the building log. What a great surprise!, I found in my letter box the magazine and could`t resist from separating the plan . Really I`m going to built it, perhaps a little bigger (With your permission, of course).
