  1. Hi All, just test flown my version, flies great except for some very old 2 cell lipos not lasting very long. my elevators are top hinged using the film covering but the 2 half are joined by a piece of 18swg wire bent into a square C shape this is let in to the top surface of the elevators so they are flush and a small grove is formed across the small section of wood in between the 2 half. the elevator is then connected to your servo using which ever method you chose, i used a thin piano wire pushrod running in a thin plastic tube with the ends and middle secured to stop the rod from flexing. Hope this helps let me know if not and i will try to put some photos on later. Steve
  2. HI David, thanks very much for a speedy reply, on with the build now! Thanks again. Steve.
  3. Hi again, Tried this afternoon to contact some one at Mytime media with no luck, apparently they only man the phones between 10am - 2.00pm. i have just emailed David Ashby to see if he could help shed some light on this problem, hopefully we might get an answer soon. Steve
  4. Hi all, that makes me feel better, thought i had really lost the plot! I have redrawn the tail end to suit the A3 plan and cut out all formers, former sizes were slightly out assuming this part of the plan is correct. Not sure about wing ribs as yet, may try to contact someone at RCM&E about it first, dont really whont to waste to much balsa at the moment. Steve.
  5. Evening all, just looking at the tree plan in this months mag, Is it me or have the 2 parts of the plan been printed at diffrent scales ? Rear part of the fus certanly does not line up with the front which makes me wonder which one is correct. Any one else found this problem? Steve.
  6. Thanks Phil, i was hoping to make one this evening as myself and some friends were hoping to fly some vintage models tomorrow evening. might have order them as i don't think i have 0ba tap. thanks again. Steve.
  7. Hi all, does anyone know the thread size for the P.A.W 09 (1.49) i need to make a new prop nut as i seem to have mislaid the original. Thanks in advance. Steve.
  8. Hi Danny,That sounds like its going to get very complicated?! Think ill stick to the shorty for now, 2 lines although my control handle has a 3rd line connection for throttle if needed, Weather permitting hope to try it out on Sunday and if all goes well ill try to post some photos. Steve
  9. Thanks Peter, really looking forward to flying this, will make a change from RC Planes & boats, trying to find my collection of Keil Kraft 'Bendy Props' for the PAW, might last longer than an APC? Steve.
  10. Hi all, Thanks for all your help, managed to reconnect front fuselage last evening then decided to recover it, cofg now just in front of front line on bellcrank as suggested. Back to work tomorrow so probably finish it at weekend then try to fly it without getting dizzy and falling over LOL Steve.
  11. Thanks guys, Just pushed it all back together it seems to balance aprox 1/2" in front of leading edge!? which puts it way to far forward from the ballcrank, some serious rethinking needed here then! May try to move engine back / lengthen the tail a bit? thanks for your speedy replies! Steve.
  12. Hi All, I was given a control line model over the weekend,c/w PAW 2.49 Diesel engine, i was told the model is a Hallam Shorty but the C of G position was unknown hence the engine hanging on by the fuel tubing (fuselage broke clean off in front of wing, i have very little knowledge of control line models apart from flying a Keil Kraft Champ in the early 70s. Could any shed some light on where the CofG should be? Many thanks. Steve
  13. Morning one and all, A visit to Old Warden on Tuesday with my grandson we were very lucky to meet one of the engineers working on Alex Henshaws Mew Gull, chattng for a while he very kindly showed us inside said aircraft, i mentioned to him about this post and he informed us that they are now awaiting the return of the certain paperwork and hopefully they will be displaying the Comet and the Mew Gull together in there air raced themed flying display coming up soon, that should be something to see! Steve
  14. Thanks for the reply Philip, have just tried the os and it drops straight in so i will get it all fixed and cleaned up, then try to sort out the flap function on my DX8, That should be an entertain evening with my lack of knowledge on all things computer based !? Steve.
  15. Evening all, just thought some one may be able to help? i have a choice of 2 engines for this Pawnee an OS 52 Surpass or an SC 91fourstroke, the 91 looks like it might be a bit on the tight side, does anyone have any experience with a 52 fourstroke in a pawnee, i belive this model was originally powered by a Saito 82. Steve
