  1. hi, for ballast I put some flat lead flashng offcuts ( about an inch) on the CofG underneath on the fus. But for 25 mph I'd say leave it out, when u get to 36-40 it'll help then. I think the trick is to trim it and get the c of g at the optimum for the trim settings , then it'll just float out in a 25 mph wind..
  2. Just had sneaky hour up the Orme me and the seagulls had a great time, no mince pies though. About 28 mph sw with brill lift. Only a bit of mizzle . Just had to have some therapy Kev.
  3. Hi Kev, looks like an opportunity to get some floats on the old wildthing, gonna be more water on the slopes than usual by the looks of the weather. Saturdays looking a touch better now, maybe ! Nadolig Llawen, if I dont see you. Rich
  4. Hi do what a lot of people do to me when they've purchased in error. Got to the drop down menu on the right hand side of the purchased list in ur account and you see a menu , in it it should have something such as request to cancel an order, then it gives options like changed mind , made error in purchase. Usually the seller will accept and the refund can then be done if u have actually paid. Or with distance selling regs, you have around 7 days to return for a refund. you'd have to pay the return carriage cost though. But primarily talk to the seller he's probably a flyer like u. Hope that helps
  5. I use the orange receivers when flying on the Great Orme and all I can say is , the yanks must have very big parks ! For those that are familiar with the Orme the distance you can get out to sea can be quite a way, and I think I can only remember losing signal momentarily once, but it soon clicked back when I lifted the Tx slightly. Great value for money.
  6. Posted by Tim Mackey on 19/09/2012 21:12:01: Looks a lot like an old SAS "Schizo" that I once had, and sold on to friend, who promptly wrecked it! Did I have something to do with that Tim ?? Rich
  7. Posted by Ian Jones on 12/10/2012 22:07:53: Hmm, I can only make one day but which to choose? Still haven't decided. Hi Ian, of the two days, deffo go for the Saturday, check out XC's Sundays weather, as Tim says not looking too good, week north-north easterly. See y'all up there ! Richard
  8. Hi Steve, Ian, let me know when our coming up again and we'll do the pub and fish and chips again . See you up the Orme over the Weekend Marty, Wx looking good for both days so long as the showers keep off. Richard
  9. Hi, go to helifreak.com and there is a thread dedicated to it with a link to a comprehensive very easy pdf to follow. It is primarily for the opposite mode2 to mode1. But u should be able to fiure it out for the opposite. I used it to convert my mode2 to mode 1 works well ! Hope that helps Rich
  10. Hi John, I managed to get a good 1- 1/2 hrs flying after you left ,the wind was 5-7 when I started but eventually I gave up when it came down to 3mph, used the motor a little just to get the height but the Radian just floats up (I think it's got helium in the wings ). And a bonus I took it home in one piece.
  11. Hi John, they've been up a few weekends now ,the big paragliders last weekend about 6 of them. One flyer, on what looks more like a parachute jumping off the top and floating down to the old gun emplacements at the bottom by the beach,(and I thought I did a lot of walking !) Starting to get as busy as Heathrow up there, but all flying safely together. Looks like Radian weather tomorrow, may see you up there are you taking the hoards ? Rich
  12. Hi Tim missed you this morning , I had a quick 1/2hr blast early on about 10.00 wind was good from the west nice dry window and managed to get in about half an hour before going back to the day job, but had a bit of time on the Dx6.   Buff's fuz looking really nice , Zaidy are u taking notes ?
  13. Posted by Big Bandit on 13/01/2012 03:17:29: Tom,   I get mine from this bloke, always work fine with my Speky 6i.   Here   Cheers,   Chris.   Got a couple the same, I think from the same seller, and they have been brilliant. The range is a parkflyer , but it must be a massive park that they fly in as mine go out off the Orme to the point where the WT is pretty much a dot. Also with the WT and associated combat they have survived multiple hits, magnetic rocks, and Timbo. And still works spot on. Can't grumble for Under a tenner.   Rich
  14. Or, go to a local double glazing fitter and get some lead flashin waste for free.   Add a bit of cw and, voila.   Ian if u need some still when ur around next, let me know I've got a fair bit .   Rich
  15. Been up the Orme for a quick "slope break", peaked 45 mph at the edge averaging 25mph 30ft away from the edge, then rain stopped play.   Tim, are you going up over the weekend ?   Rich
