  1. Hi CS, Thank you! Ah you are lucky, I know a lot of flyers that all have Dad's in the hobby, you are fortunate! I agree, likewise, all my school friends are sitting in front of the xbox. Shame really, they are missing out on great fun! I do play the Xbox (brothers... shhh aha) and I post frequently on Facebook and twitter (less twitter) but if i had to give up one, I wouldn't have to hesitate to give up the technology for the Modelling. Thank you, I know exactly what i'll use it for... think it'll go nicely in a DofE project! Tom
  2. Evening all, Yes it was I that sent it in :D aha. Interesting to hear all of your views on the article. A part that stood out was about the age range of 20 year olds. Although I partially agree with this a side of me disagrees, firstly because by then all the potential competition flyers are all untouchable. Also I notice there are few of that age range because they are all off studying, getting a job or starting a family so they have no spare time or money for that matter for flying modelling. I agree with alot of your view points. Erfolg, £100 to me is alot of saving! Before I started this hobby I had another hobby, drumming. I wasn't getting anywhere with it and it was really annoying the parents so I had no choice but to move on. From the money I saved from that I managed to buy the spitfire (as in the article) crashing that was awful! I felt awful for days after (don't fly what you can't afford, oops, learnt that lesson the hard way)!. Now I save for everything I buy in the hobby. I saved for my transmitter (£130) my trainer (£82) and then alot of accessories which totalled by the end of year 1 over £500 (oh I did buy a chipmunk aswell but that was because I was growing out of my trainer, £90) That was me totally empty starting year one with (running it as a business) an inflow of around 50p( inflow, is that right)? I started saving my pocket money again from the money I got from my amazing Parents and Grandparents. Now at the end of year 2 nearly year 3 I am still with the same models wanting to yet again advance. I wonder, 3 years, 3 models... about £700 later who on earth in their right mind of my age would stick to it without grandparents or parents involved....hmm.... its an expensive hobby and it is a healthy (it is? aha) addiction that needs feeding. Atleast it teaches you the meaning of finance and balancing but it completely destroys anyones chance of becoming good at my age without a money tree.   Tom Edited By Tom T on 12/11/2012 20:35:51

  11. The subtitle is the exact reason why I hate the name that is put on the generation that I am in caused be certain youngsters that think fooling around and causing mischief is a good idea. We are not all like it and its awful that it seems that way...... Concorde and me mean no harm, never have and never will and its a shame that it looks that way.... I think those people need to find a hobby! Hope its not this one because they will try to ruin it! Tom
  12. Its a shame really, If these were young fools that decided to do this then they should be fully ashamed of themselves. As Concorde says, i've never even thought of doing anything like that and the people that do are the people that put a bad name on our generation. We are not all like it but theres some that just are........
  13. Yes although not completely free, have a few things to do over the holiday but there will certainly be a few days there for flying and building Agreed, nothing like a film on a small budget suppose it gets to the point though and explains what its need to
