  1. Once upon a time I sold two engines on eBay. One was really nice and in excellent condition. 👍 The other was an engine I had inherited and it was pile of worn out crap.... I only advertised it for a joke. But honestly and comically highlighting the faults was great fun to compose. Strangely, the worn out engine sold for more money than the good one. . . Weird, eh. 🤣
  2. A mobile phone is unlikely to cause a total Tx failure. . . . BUT for those who are sceptical about a phone causing issues, here is a little cautionary tale: I was doing the first flight with a Wot-4XL for a clubmate. It was flying nicely and only needed a few beeps of trim to get it flying straight and level. Prior to handing the Tx to my friend, I turned the model so it would be heading away from us. I pushed the stick to the right...... and the model banked to the left. I pushed the stick a bit further and the model banked even further to the left. Uh-ohhhh....... Both aileron channels had reversed. Fortunately, I got it back down without crashing it but, mentally, it was a challenge. During the urgency of getting it down, I was also hoping no other channels would go crazy. The only thing we could attribute it to was my buddy's phone which was in his pocket. We fixed the ailerons. . . . and put his phone back in his car. No more problems, but my buddy lost confidence in his radio. The radio was Multiplex. Be careful with your phones, guys. It seems they can create some mischief in our transmitters.
  3. We like to think that fellow modellers are an honest bunch. Anybody selling and engine will be aware of its condition, and will also be aware of any of its ailments. People who sell an engine for strong money when they know the said engine is totally clapped out is an immoral scumbag. Sadly, it seems we can't trust anyone nowadays. 😞
  4. Rx battery. Plus, change the switch..... its wiring could be old and suffering from the dreaded black wire corrosion.
  5. Apparently I don’t pay my wife enough attention. She complained I never buy her flowers on Valentine’s Day. To be honest, I didn’t know she sold them.
  6. A safety thing: Disconnect the battery before turning the cone around.
  7. I've recently discovered I can smell a coconut from a mile away. It's going to come in handy with my new job as a Bounty hunter!
  8. They say pink is the most masculine colour, as it shows you don't know how to do laundry properly........
  9. The joy of flying R/C models is derived from the skill of actually controlling them. A newby to the forum who wants "RC transmitters that can by controlled to send messages via programmable board (through pins) and not in combination (=build together) with RC controllers" This ridiculous concept should be regarded as highly suspicious.
