  1. This is the second time I've built this plane. First time was when it was in Radio Modeller, while I was doing my A-levels. Second time was during lock-down, when I had more time and considerably better tools. I also took the opertunity to tweak it a little, to accommodate an electric setup. It turned out quite nice. Neither have flown.
  2. Would like to...... it currently sits in the queue, behind a Vans RV-4 and an A10, both from RCM&E plans..... perhaps by next Christmas !?
  3. Trying to decide how the profile of the wingtip should look before I cut it. Anybody got any finished profile pictures ?
  4. Between a GWS Spitfire and an RCM&E Weekend Wren, I've probably clocked no more than 1hr of flying. Spend more time building (and rebuilding😬), which I find more rewarding. Might learn properly before I fly this one 🫣.
  5. Hi, Well.... the Gigolo got chewed on by the cat towards the end of the build, the Aztec Two Step is a work in progress but the Tequila Sunrise is done and ready to go. Weighs in at 785g (27.7oz) ready to fly. Might add a small 3D printed radial engine inside the cowl and just need to fine adjust the battery position for balance and then........... I'm too nervous about flying it. Not to mention that I've not really flown anything particularly successfully !!

  7. @Trevor Crook to answer your original question, on the Vortex Vacform website, the canopy is listed as CN100 ......
  8. How are you getting on @Trevor Crook ? With a little bit of assistance from @kevin b and suddenly finding I have some (unwanted) spare time, I've finally got started. First the wings and motor mount. Little bit of adjustment and will be ready to break out the glue.
  9. Interesting thread. I was just about to push the button on digital subscription and thought .... I'll just check if there are any problems. Glad I did. My intention was to subscribe, download the .PDF plan for the the Vans RV-4 from Feb '21, drop in on the local copy shop and print at A1. Then I could continue making parts for it - my cat decided that some of the parts tasted nice and were good to play with ! I think I might hold off until plans are scanned at 1:1. Seems a pointless expenditure otherwise. In the past I have got the magazine plan scanned but have found that it wrinkles due to the folds and thin paper, so lines are not always straight and any misalignment can play havoc with overall lengths or positioning. I have had more success in redrawing plans using AutoCAD. Printing from a PDF generated by AutoCAD gives an excellent quality. It takes a lot of time to draw though.
  10. Not sure if your pre-cut parts are the same, but on the 1/8" Aileron Spar Web, the slots do not line up with R1, R2 and the first R3 Rib. The other 6 slots are perfect but the length is slightly short.
  11. I am starting to cut the parts for this plan. Most of them rough cut so far. Hopefully by the end of this weekend, they'll be mostly done. I was also going to look for the same canopy. Not got round to it yet.
