  1. Thanks Colin, I did look at it, and was sure there was no backing, if you hadn't of said I would have tried with the back on. Andy
  2. I have just bought some, its the smaller of the 2 checks about and inch square(red / white) Not used it yet and it doesn't have any backing paper. Might try tonight, I'll let you know. Andy
  3. It was a very helpful chap called Selwin. And lunch sounds good. Andy PS someone might be able to infer from the cooordinators name the area and then the chairman, it also turns out I was given the wrong area name in the first instance. Edited By Andy Green on 24/06/2015 17:06:57
  4. Well when you speak to the right people.... Spoke to the scheme coordinator and he was extremely helpful and I'm booked into a workshop in July. Andy
  5. Thank Baz, this is exactly where I'm coming from. Glad its not just me. Andy
  6. Thanks All. I initially spoke to someone on the BMFA stand at Weston Park, who knew nothing about the workshops and said to talk to my area. I spoke to the area chairman, and I have deliberately not said which area, so to save any embarrassment. My aim at the moment was to get on a workshop to personally ratify what I'm doing is correct, also meet other people in the same position, and start progressing. For now I'm happy to carry on as I am, get my B, then get my club to put me forward when the time comes, Andy
  7. Hi Ken, Working on B now, and I know there is a (6 month) delay between B test and examiner. Just wanted to progress in an orderly fashion. Happy to do it my own way, and as you say get my Club to push me through. From reading previous threads, I took away that there were workshops to help with this, but maybe I read it wrong. Andy
  8. I have just got my Club Instructor badge, and looking to improve my training and be consistent with others, I have asked of my Area what do I need to do to get on a workshop, only to be told that I'm my Club's responsibility, and its my Club's job to oversee me and train me as the instructor. Was looking to make the transition from Club Instructor to BMFA Instructor / Examiner, but don't see how to do this on my own. Andy
  9. Hi Wingman, a couple of observations. Do you currently have planning permission for change of use to fly there and what happens if you ever get a noise complaint and are asked to cease flying. I agree owning your own patch sounds great in practice it is fraught with danger IMO For the record we don't own our field and I've never been involved in purchase, but have had to deal with planning. Andy
  10. It shows as being reviewed by PayPal which is worrying, normally the refunds go straight in, so I may not get it after all. Andy
  11. I raised a PayPal dispute, and they came back with the offer. See my post on the 8th A Edited By Andy Green on 18/06/2015 16:20:49
  12. Well, as a gesture of good will I got 1/2 back. That's £18 so well worth the effort. Andy
  13. Can anyone recommend a hot(ish) 3S setup for this model. Mines nearly done. Andy
  14. Plenty of Britflight spares for sale. Must be heartbreaking for the guy, selling the remains of his stock. Andy
  15. Gonna get some covering material at Weston next week. What higher performance motors have people used? Andy
  16. Thanks Jamie Facebook page found. Membership application will be in post today. Andy Edited By Andy Green on 10/06/2015 08:11:00
  17. Thanks Jamie - this is the email what do you guys think? I have an interest in jets, but don’t own one yet, and currently not really in the position to invest. Do you think it would it be appropriate to join the JMA and gain access to events so soak up the atmosphere / ask questions / find out more before I commit? Andy
  18. Have emailed the JMA, about joining but not had a response yet. Its been a couple of weeks, is that normal. The address I used was fanflash@. Andy Edited By Andy Green on 09/06/2015 14:59:27

  24. Yet again its the customers fault, why not just disable the shopping cart side of the site. The current message isn't very big and has no highlighting so is easy to miss. I've given up using them, since I'm still owed monies, and some 30 min epoxy I bought last year won't harden. Andy
