  1. Just done the maiden of my 2000. 36.36 920kv motor. 2200 3 cell batt pushed back to the servos. 6 servos setup in 5 flight modes. Takeoff, Cruse, Thermal. Acro full wing ailerons. CG at 70mm. Only other change was i packed the front of the horizontal stab up just over 1mm no noticeable climb at full throttle. Got a 5 amp ubec on the battery tray with the esc underneath, may move the ubec later and try it with a 1300 battery as it gives the same c of g as the current setup. Thats made the thread a bit longer. lol
  2. Ordered 2 lipos from Hobby King items where delivered 24hrs later I call that good service.
  3. We all get it wrong sometimes Kev. I tip stalled my acrowot on finals at stoke ash 3 weeks ago needs new fuselage, caught a tree with my wot4 that needed a new fuselage as well. Wot4 fixed acrowot still in bits. It never stops being a learning curve.
  4. Was that at Eye today Kev, I went down to the other field the Wot4 is back in the air
  5. Thanks for the information guys.
  6. Which software bug is that pse ?
  7. I have a 808 #11 that came from hong kong, they work fine except the colours change with changes in light levels, It cost ke £24 including post, I think it's good for the price. I would also add that the results you see on Youtube as not as sharp as you get from the camera. Ps not advised for use in water. Edited By graham dewis on 08/12/2013 21:10:36
  8. Posted by andyh on 11/08/2013 22:57:33: Posted by Phil Green on 11/08/2013 22:48:15: The 'exposed 1/4 wave at the end of a length of coax' type aerials again consist of a 1/4 wave element, but the coax shield is also the counterpoise and a quarter-wave of the shielded part of the coax should be RF visible as well as the last 30mm 'whisker'. This is far from ideal as the coax is badly mismatched and the signal distribution will be unpredictable at best. Again its a huge compromise. thanks Phil, very interesting, although some of the RF stuff is a bit over my head! are there any pratical consideration for this? should the full length of the aerial be run as straight as possible, or is it only the orientation of the whisker that really matters? Edited By andyh on 11/08/2013 23:06:45 Very good Phill, I went for the easy answer and you are correct, does that make it that the last 60mm should be straight at the required orientation . 9. Posted by andyh on 11/08/2013 17:06:48: stupid questions: 1. is the full (~140mm) length of the Rx antenna "live", or just the uncovered end (~30mm) portion? 2. the Orange R620 & R710 Rx's each only have a single antenna. should I be using a satellite Rx with them (they both have satellite sockets)? For 1. Just the end portion is live For 2 Would be a good idea. (not gone on orange myself) Graham
  10. Hi if you look at this **LINK** the COG problem is not new Graham
  11. Stervo My Acro Wot COG is at 75mm inverted, elevator level with tailplain, 4mm dia washer on bottom motor screw, t's also got 25 gram of lead on the tail but thats due to all the wood & epoxy that has been added to the front end due to the 2 prangs with the concrete. Flys great on 13*6.5 ACPE prop Graham
  12. Stevo Did you check the COG with it inverted. It's not making sense. Graham
  13. Stevo Dont forget to set the elevator level Graham
  14. Hi stuey It needs some downthrust.. Take off the prop take the motor and glue with some cyno a 4mm washer over the bottom screw hole on the motor you my have to file the washer a bit so that the circlip on the motor shaft does not catch it. Reinstall the motor make sure that the washer is at the bottom of the plane. put the prop back on and go and fly. By the way in a glide the plane will and should loose height so dont trim for level flight with no power on, trim for level flight at the speed you want to fly at with power on then when you throttle back the plane will decend on it's own.  I did the above on my Acro Wot and moving the throttle from half to full does not make the plane climb.   Happy Flying Gaham Edited By graham dewis on 07/08/2013 10:25:24

  18. Posted by Dave Rand on 30/12/2011 20:33:46: I'm not trying to slow it down, just keep it level, while I don't mind keeping down elevator in, once I'm inverted it's gona cause more effort than I would like. Just a thought I had to add 20g of lead to the tail to get the COG at 60mm back, if I took it of would that help??? It does seem a lot of down elevator I'm putting in Why did you need 20g of weight in the tail ?. What battery are you using.   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
