  1. Dave Bran Curious nobody has asked why you have 30+ tx, and surely you've left out some Hubsans, Twisters and other curios. Rod
  2. DH2 You're not imagining it. I read an article by a contributor who I believe lived in France in, I'm prettysure, Radio Modeiier. He used Johnson's Klear coloured with printer ink to strenghen and decorate depron. When it became unobtainable he switched to DIall vinyl floor polish. Diall is a B&Q brand. I have tried it and it works, although I use Windsor water based acrylic ink as pigment. The polish looks cloudy but dries clear. It's worth useing a clear coat first to seal all cut or sanded edges otherwise the pigmented polish will give uneven colour density. I'm affraid your are on your own with Pledge wax!
  3. Late sixties. Graupner UglyStick .K&B 40. Simprop radio. First and only flight less than 10 seconds. Do not do this.
  4. Have just seen Phil Mays post. Did not mean to imply this is not a serious matter.
  5. I too have a sense of deja vu - the first post almost word for word. Of cause if it is deja vu I cannot have seen it before!
  6. Geoff Model looks really smart. Good flying. Good flying site! Rod
  7. Hi Dave The Kindle I can't speak for, however, Rod has a Galaxy S2 for which I downloaded the Mobius app. last night without any problems or caveats. Heather
  8. Hi Dave. Which Android devices are you trying to use with the Mobius? Both my Samsung G4 & Samsung Galaxy Note 10 have the Mobius download & are fully functioning. I have used it at 'our' indoor site to take video & display. I downloaded the app. straight from 'Playstore' to both of my devices. I have also on the recomendation of therau2000 downloaded from 'playstore' MXPlayer in order to view the videos taken by the Mobius. therau2000 is the author of the Android software & has been very helpful & speedy in is replys to queries. Just got my waterproof case from Joovuu very nice. Rod allowed me to 'post this'. Hope to see you soon. Heather
  9. SSMFC is no longer operating. My wife and I are former commitee members who, along with other commitee members, and other members resigned (or let membership lapse). We are still friends and flying companions of former members. My wife and I currently belong to North Kent Nomads and Eynsford Model Helicopter Club, both of which are friendly, well run and have great flying sites. Rod
  10. Spicecat Apologies. Misread your post. Hope you are now sorted. Rod
  11. Hi Spicecat I know nothing aboutthe DX6i. I use a DX8. However, the point of differential is to give more up than down toreduce the effects of adverse yaw A good starting point for a 2m glider would be a ratio of 2 to 1 up to down. .
  12. Read the specs and they state it uses a HK contra rotating motor. Rod
  13. Horizon are tops for customer support. Give them a call on Monday and speak to the tech. guys.
  14. You can often buy Fastt Tack in haberdashers. I'm sure I've seen it in John Lewis and Singers as I accopany SWMBO on vital shopping expeditions. (To be fair she often comes with to the local model shop.) Anyway I've just checked and she has a bottle, so I.ll give it a go. Good tip TL
  15. Hi Linney Don't know of any alternative prop adaptors. However, you can get different length adaptors meant for other aircraft by E-flight and also other styles of motor mount. I have used prop adapters and mounts designed for the Cub and Beast when recycling Hyper Taxi bits. Recent projects have included a13" delta, a 30" horten and a 24" B2 Stealthbomber - all resized and modified from other plans. The Horten and B2 have no vertical surfaces and fly well. GWS props fit the adaptors. I got my mounts and adaptors from RC Choppers. Rod
  16. Fingerless Funcopter spares at Der Himmlische Hollein, www.hoielleinshop.com. This was the only place I could find a main gear and pinion set.Bought some other bits while I was at it. The p&p may look a bit steep at E9.50 but I got a E5.00 refund to my paypal account for lower p&p. Ordered on Monday arrived on Friday.
  17. Fingerless Funcopter has been out of commission for a long time awaiting spares (eventually sourced from a model shop in Germany a couple of weeks ago - good service and cheap). It will be the new year before it takes to the air though. As an aside ,Danny Lock, (ace 3d pilot and invitation only competitor at the World Masters) checked out the Funcopter for my wife Heather - for it is hers - when we got it last year. As he handed her the transmitter his only comment was "If you can fly that you can fly anything". We are still trying.
  18. TheMSRX is "interesting". As Wolstonflyersuggests desentise it with rates and expo.I put mine to one side for three months - then I found the fix. Extend the aileron link about 3 turns and reduce the elevator link by 1 turn. As if by magic it becomes almost flyable. It will now do almost fairly fast piroettes in both directions without flying straight back at me! For all the technical stuff and much else check out the rcgroups forum. Don't be disheartened.I'm currently flying a MSRX, Nano, MCPX, and Blade 300.Havn`t progressed much beyond hovering with any of them, although I now have over 50 flights and 4 hours on the 300. Just about to repair and upgrade the Funcopter.
  19. Geoff Nice to see your smileing face. Its been a long a long time since we last flew together. Good luck with the build. I still have an unbuilt Mini Panic lurking in the loft somewhere. Its a pre-production version - handed to me bit by bit by Rob Newman over a couple of weeks hot off his then new cnc laser cutter. Will I ever build it? Perhaps wait until its vintage.
